Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and visionary News Editor to lead our editorial desk with a blend of traditional journalistic values and modern technological skills. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Marathi journalism, exceptional editorial judgment, and the ability to inspire and manage a high-performing editorial team. Prerequisites: Degree/Diploma in Journalism. At least 12–15 years of experience in Marathi newspaper journalism, with a minimum of 5 years as Chief Sub Editor. Strong proficiency in Marathi, Hindi, and English languages. Proficiency in computer operations; tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to modern tools. Expertise in news editing, translation, and page layout design. Exceptional analytical skills and ability to provide scholarly perspectives on current affairs. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the daily editorial operations of the news desk. Edit, review, and approve news pages ensuring accuracy, clarity, and reader engagement. Provide scholarly analysis and in-depth coverage on politics, social issues, education, culture, cybercrime, and modern crime. Lead news translation, ensuring linguistic accuracy across Marathi, Hindi, and English. Conduct interviews using modern technology tools and techniques. Maintain strong coordination between the reporting team and desk. Mentor and build a capable editorial team to uphold high journalistic standards.
