Senior Transportation Manager

Role PurposeTransportation This position is responsible for designing strategies and providing direction to manage the transport operations with focus on sustainable as well as cost effective transport solutions, drive revenue enhancement and overall responsible for P&L.Key Accountability Area :-• Develop new business pipelines either through existing or new customer bases and ensure organic growth with existing customers • Overall P&L ownership of Transport Vertical. • Providing customized transport solutions to customers for transportation legs like primary, secondary, tertiary & local. • Developing vendors into strategic partners; identifying and developing potential vendors/ suppliers for achieving cost effective purchases of materials and achieving re duction in prices and timely delivery • Evaluating projects from profitability perspective and suggesting methods to reduce time and increase efficiency.• Awareness about End to End to End Supply Chain Management, Multi-Model Transportation & Logistics Solution designing while ensuring continuous improvement. • Manage logistics functions, negotiating with transporters for sustainable & cost-effective transport solutions • Take adequate measures to monitor and analyze the performance of transporters, pro cessing & packaging units pertaining to cost, quality and delivery norms • Managing & optimizing assets, driving technology and business behavioral changes to achieve transformation plans • Steering large process changes, continuous improvements, simplification, automation and offshoring initiatives for achieving efficiency & business results • Formulated domestic transportation strategy for India and managed transport business • Manage procurement, transport solution, budgeting, RFQ bidding, pricing, review of non-compliance and process violations in the system • Maintain relationships with key domestic transport customers & vendors • Develop vendors/suppliers, conduct business reviews and track performance• Materials management and inventory reconciliation. • Effectively develop and implement process controls and quality improvement initiatives that reduce costs and increase company revenue. • Conduct appraisal, assessed performance gaps, developed training modules, & supported staff to improve their overall competence • Designing strategies for distribution, stock, transportation & customer services entailing process optimization and location planning. • Defining SOP’s and implementing the same in operations and improving efficiency and productivity. • Comprehensive experience in managing complete Operations ensuring maximum growth and profitability within the defined guidelines. • Strategic ability in striking excellent coordination with all divisions involved within the organization including procurement, vendor development, logistics & materials management. • Possess problem-solving, analytical and numerical skills with the ability to deal with unforeseen issues with ease. An effective team leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Track record in implementing cost saving measures to achieve substantial reduction in terms of budgeted cost. Deft in coordinating with the transporters for selecting vehicles while supervising fleet of vehicles & transporters • Driver recruitment and driver training and up gradation with PAN India NetworkingTechnical / Functional Competencies • Strong knowledge of end-to-end Supply Chain Management and multi-modal transportation • Expertise in transport operations management • Proven experience in P&L management and cost optimization strategies • Experience in performance monitoring (KPIs) for transporters, vendors, and logistics operations • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting & financial analysis • Experience in network design, distribution planning & warehouse coordination
