Transportation Manager

Job SummaryThe Transport Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing transportation operations within the logistics and supply chain network. This role involves managing fleet operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving delivery efficiency, controlling transportation costs, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and safe movement of goods.Key Responsibilities1. Transportation Operations ManagementPlan, manage, and optimize daily transportation operations.Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods across all distribution channels.Develop transportation strategies to improve service levels and reduce transit time.2. Fleet ManagementManage company-owned and third-party fleets.Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, fuel consumption, and utilization.Ensure fleet availability and operational efficiency.3. Route Planning & OptimizationDesign and implement efficient route planning strategies.Use transportation management systems (TMS) and analytics to improve route efficiency.Monitor delivery performance and reduce delays.4. Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.Implement driver safety programs and conduct regular audits.Manage documentation related to permits, insurance, and regulatory requirements.5. Vendor & Stakeholder ManagementManage relationships with transport vendors, carriers, and logistics partners.Negotiate transportation contracts and service agreements.Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and customer service teams.6. Cost Control & Budget ManagementMonitor transportation budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.Optimize freight costs while maintaining service quality.Analyze transportation KPIs and financial performance.7. Team LeadershipLead and supervise transport coordinators, dispatch teams, and drivers.Conduct training programs to improve operational efficiency.Drive performance management and employee engagement.8.
