Job Description:
Objective of the role:Chief Security Officer responsible for developing and implementing security strategies to protect guests, staff, and property from physical and digital threats. Their duties include managing cybersecurity, physical security, risk management, and incident response.Roles & Responsibilities:Create and oversee policies that reduce physical, operational, and cybersecurity risks.Protect sensitive data and digital infrastructure from cyber threats, which includes managing firewalls, identity management, and network security.Identify vulnerabilities and assess risks to develop preventive measures.Develop and lead the response to security incidents.Guarantee the school follows all relevant laws and regulations regarding safety and data privacy.Educate staff on security best practices and threat awareness.Act as a key advisor to the staff and board of directors on all security-related matters.overseeing day-to-day security operations, managing security personnel (including duty assignments and training), monitoring surveillance equipment (CCTV, alarms, etc.), and ensuring proper access control at entry and exit points.Investigate all allegations of crime or incidents, document them thoroughly, and submit detailed reports to the school administration and, when necessary, legal authorities.A crucial aspect involves building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, and fostering a culture of security awareness through training programs and safety drills.Qualification & Skills:A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, information security, or a related field is typically required, with a master's degree often preferred.A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or a related field, with a track record of leadership in a high-risk or educational environment.Familiarity with modern security technologies, including access control systems, CCTV, and cybersecurity principles.Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) are highly regarded.
