Job Title: DGM Pricing Business: Freight Forwarding Logistics Department: Sales & MarketingReports to: CEOLocation: MumbaiQualification: Graduate / Post GraduateExperience: 10 - 15 years Job Brief:Job TitleDGM - Pricing & ProcurementJob DescriptionRole and ResponsibilitiesResponsible to support ocean (and air) product development, lead in carrier management, drive rates/contract negotiations and be involved in RFQ and tender bidding processes. To be a part of the team in supporting a rate management system - to allow teams access to rates and service options.• Establish and drive Tender Management process across multiple regions• FCL Product pricing and tariff management / administration• LCL Product co-loader relationship management including building up of standard tariff support and administration & pricing guidance• Ad-hoc rates for projects and charter services• Coordinate with internal teams including sales, operations, and finance, as well as vendors to source pricing and freight information.• Align with the sales team to source prices, assist with quotations and respond to opportunities by sourcing pricing and providing deal coordination support.• Maintain strong relationships with vendors (shipping lines, airlines, international agents, trucking companies, other logistics companies) to obtain updated pricing and freight information• Coordinate and problem solve with carriers, forwarding companies, and other entities to ensure successful deliveries of customer cargo• Actively participate, advise and help make decisions in selection of carriers.• Maintain SharePoint documents linked to proper location (rates, cost changes, forwarders reports, general info)• Ensure that all information being conveyed by the customer to the internal teams is accurate – delivery addresses, pricing, cross references, packing, special instructions etc.• Implementation of standardized processes and follow up of procedures, guidelines• Handle daily rate and tender / RFQ enquiry• Carrier contract management including timely renewals• Develop customers into strategic named account tier• Drive the volume growth while developing, and executing plans to enable future growth of assigned trade lanes including core carrier undertakings• Participate in market research and prepare regular rate analysisRequired Skills and Abilities• Knowledge to handle Tenders and RFQ pricing• Strong carrier relationships across key trade lanes and destinations• Familiarity with how different rate management systems work• Strong negotiation skills to support carrier bids and tenders• New product development and implementation to support solution driven pricing model• Knowledge to do project pricing and solutions including odd size, break bulk and chartering• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.• High attention to detail.• Strong sense of urgency and aptitude to work under pressure.• Must be able to prioritize tasks.• Ability to work independently or as a flexible team player.Education and Experience• Minimum of a Post Graduate in any stream or similar qualification; MBA preferred. Having a degree in supply chain and logistics to be an added advantage• Minimum 10-12 years of industry experience in pricing functions either with a reputable ocean carrier or 3PLMandatory SkillsRFQ pricing, rate management, New product development, Pricing Specialist, Contract Management, project pricing, key trade lanesAbout Abrao Group:
