SENIOR SHELTER DIRECTOR (Rem- 1 -1.5 Lakhs per month, 6 days a week, Full-time) Company Description Founded in 2010 by four passionate animal lovers, Youth Organization in Defence of Animals (YODA) is a registered charity based in Mumbai dedicated to promoting human-animal co-existence. YODA provides prompt medical services for abandoned or ill-treated homeless animals, behavioral rehabilitation for mentally disturbed animals, and shelter and rehabilitation for homeless or elderly animals until they are fit for adoption or release. The organization also focuses on vaccination and sterilization of stray dogs and cats to control the stray population and prevent human-animal transmittable diseases like rabies. Additionally, YODA is committed to education and awareness on animal welfare. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Shelter Director at YODA, located in Mumbai. The Senior Shelter Director will oversee the daily operations of the shelter, manage staff and volunteers, coordinate animal intake and rehabilitation, and ensure the implementation of medical and behavioral care protocols. Additionally, they will develop and oversee community outreach programs, manage shelter budgets and fundraising activities, maintain compliance with local regulations, and collaborate with other animal welfare organizations. The role also involves overseeing the adoption and release processes for rehabilitated animals. Qualifications Bachelors degree. Bonus: ex army or ex armed forces Experience in animal care and welfare, including medical care and behavioral rehabilitation Leadership and management skills, including staff and volunteer management and recruiting Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including community outreach and collaboration Fundraising and budget management experience Knowledge of local regulations related to animal welfare Passion for animal welfare and commitment to YODA's mission Relevant certifications or degrees in veterinary care, animal behavior, or nonprofit management are a plus Ability to work independently and efficiently in a dynamic and challenging environment
