Production Manager / Merchandiser

POSITION: Production Manager / Merchandiser LOCATION: Kala Ghoda, Mumbai CANDIDATES ONLY BASED IN MUMBAI, PREFERABLY SOUTH MUMBAI, ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Manager / Merchandiser to oversee the end-to-end production process and ensure seamless execution across design, manufacturing, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production planning, vendor management, quality control, and omni-channel order operations. JOB DESCRIPTION: Production Planning & Execution Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to ensure timely deliveries. Coordinate with design and production teams to understand garment specifications and technical requirements. Maintain comprehensive cost sheets, tracking expenses from start to finish for accurate pricing strategies. Oversee end-to-end orders across all channels — stores, MBOs, and e-commerce. Supplier & Material Management Identify, source, and negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective, high-quality materials. Manage purchase orders and maintain strong supplier relationships. Order Prioritization & Workflow Optimization Allocate resources efficiently across karigars, masters, and tailors based on priority. Handle urgent client orders without disrupting overall workflow. Monitor production progress and make proactive adjustments to prevent delays. Quality Control & Process Improvement Implement quality control processes to maintain brand standards. Conduct inspections and checks at various production stages. Resolve bottlenecks and ensure smooth operations across the production chain. Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate records of orders, materials, costs, and production schedules. Generate performance reports on output, delays, wastage, and efficiency metrics. Qualifications & Prerequisites • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Textile, Merchandising, or related field. • 3–5 years of experience in production planning, merchandising, or operations in the fashion industry. • Strong organizational and analytical skills. • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and production management tools. • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and vendor management skills. • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced creative environment.
