Job Title: Chief Manager / AVP - General Corporate Law Location: Mumbai What you will do:Primary Responsibilities:Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including commercial agreements, vendor agreements, service agreements and licensing agreements. Structure contracts to balance business objectives, regulatory compliance and risk mitigation across the regulated business wings housed in the AOL group. Assist with templatization and standardisation of contracts at an org wide level.IP Management: Assist in the preparation, filing, and management of trademark applications for word marks and device marks identified by the Company. Track and monitor the progress of trademark applications to ensure timely approval and registration. Coordinate with external IP counsel or agents for filing, prosecution, and registration processes. Maintain accurate records of all trademark applications, correspondence, and status updates. Ensure compliance with relevant trademark laws and internal policies.Privacy: Provide legal guidance on privacy laws and regulations. Develop, review, and update company privacy policies, notices, and procedures. Ensure compliance with data collection, processing, storage, and sharing practices. Support the implementation of data privacy programs and best practices across departments. Conduct privacy risk assessments and audits and recommend mitigation measures. Advise on data processing agreements and third-party vendor privacy obligations. Stay informed of evolving privacy laws and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.General Corporate Advisory: Provide end to end support on general corporate matters, including in relation to the Companies Act, SEBI Regulations and other applicable corporate laws. Advice on group structuring, inter-company transactions, capital infusions and corporate governance across group companies.Additional Responsibilities (On a need basis) Product Advisory: Provide proactive legal support during the conceptualization, structuring and rollout of new financial products and services across regulated sectors that the Angel Group is involved in. Review and advise on product design, client onboarding flows and customer documentation to ensure compliance with applicable laws including sectoral laws. Partner and collaborate with product, compliance, information security and business teams to asses legal risks and develop risk mitigation strategies for new offerings and where required, also undertake a deep dive review of existing offerings. Advice on client facing policies, terms and conditions, disclaimers and consent mechanisms, including digital contracting frameworks.Regulatory Advisory: Advise business, product and leadership teams on legal interpretation and applicability of regulations issued by SEBI, AMFI, RBI, IRDAI and other relevant financial sector regulators. Support in assessing regulatory risks and obligations associated with new business models, product structures and group level strategic initiatives.Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, human resources, information security, product, technology, data, business, sales, marketing and operations teams to ensure legal compliance and provide guidance on legal mattersWho you are: LLB from an accredited institution.Admitted to practice law in India.9-11 years of experience general corporate law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.Strong knowledge of corporate law, contracts, Data Privacy, IPR and legal principles.Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with clients and colleaguesAt Angel One, our thriving culture is rooted in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
