Legal Associate

Aquis Search is assisting a global financial services organization is their search for a Legal Associate to support its in-house legal and compliance function in Mumbai.This role suits a lawyer with 4-6 years PQE who enjoys regulatory research, contract support, and working closely with business, compliance, and external counsel in a fast-moving environment. The position offers strong exposure to securities markets regulation, commercial agreements, and day-to-day legal operations within a sophisticated trading and technology-led setup.Key ResponsibilitiesTrack and analyse regulatory updates (SEBI, IFSCA – GIFT City, RBI, NSE/BSE/MCX and related bodies) and prepare impact summariesDraft and update legal research notes, internal memos, policies, SOPs, and regulator/exchange responsesReview and negotiate routine commercial agreements (NDAs, vendor agreements, MSAs) under supervisionMaintain contract trackers, CLM tools, and document management systemsCoordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel on ongoing legal and compliance mattersSupport audits, investigations, incident documentation, and compliance evidence packsAssist with corporate housekeeping and regulatory filings where requiredKey RequirementsIntegrated 5-year law degree from a recognised university4+ years’ experience in a law firm or in-house legal role, with exposure to regulatory research and contractsStrong drafting, research, and communication skills in EnglishHigh attention to detail, strong organisation skills, and ability to manage multiple prioritiesComfortable working in a structured, high-performance environment with confidentiality and discretionNice to HaveExposure to securities/financial markets regulation and financial services documentationFamiliarity with data privacy, technology/IP contracts, and compliance frameworksExperience working with international stakeholders and modern legal tech toolsIf this sounds of interest, please apply directly or drop a note on aloysiusparmar@ for a confidential discussion.
