Our mission is to ensure excellence in every project while fostering a culture of integrity, safety, and innovation.About the RoleThe Manager - Legal will play a crucial role in providing legal counsel and support to the organization, ensuring compliance with legal standards and managing risks associated with contracts.Responsibilities- Contract Reviews / Contract Risk Assessment - review tender conditions and draft contracts to identify all key risks, terms and conditions outside Work Procurement Standard and recommend appropriate risk-treatments. - Tender Contract Formation - drafting contracts, amendments and qualifications, supporting negotiations and managing execution formalities – ensure that all contracts clearly, unambiguously and comprehensively deal with all obligations of all parties, all entitlements of Leighton India and the allocation of all risks in the contract document. Contracts include Head Contracts, Pre-Bid Agreements / MOU’s, Joint Venture Agreements, NDA’s, Direct Agreements, PCGs etc. - External Legal Advisers - Engage and manage (including costs) - Managing internal legal approvals - Ethics and Compliance - supporting the Business Unit’s staff to understand the Group code of Conduct and associated policies and procedures; investigations and reporting. - Such further tasks and responsibilities as identified by the Business from time to time.Qualifications- Bachelor of Laws / L.L.B. - A minimum of 10+ years PQE working as an in-house legal counsel preferably for a construction and/or mining services company.Required Skills- Strong understanding of contract law and risk management. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Preferred Skills- Experience in the construction and mining services industry. - Familiarity with compliance and ethics regulations.
