Lead Counsel - Litigation JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Lead Counsel, Litigation (Band E1) Reporting Into: Senior Lead Counsel, Litigation and Distribution Business/Function: Legal and S&P Location: Mumbai (Work from Office) Purpose/Overview of the role: Reporting to the Senior Lead Counsel, Litigation and Distribution, the incumbent will be responsible for providing legal and litigation - related support to the business at Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (formerly known as Sony Pictures Networks India Private Limited). Key Result Areas: • Drafting legal notices, responses and communications. Reviewing, finalising and filing proceedings before several forums, including the Supreme Court, High Courts, District Courts, TDSAT, Magistrate’s Court and others • Liaison with the Advocates on Record for timely: (i) filing of the pleadings, (ii) updates on matters, (iii) updates on listing of the matters, (iv) strategic discussions for effective progress in the matters, etc • Briefing Senior Counsels and Counsels for litigations filed by or against the Company • Coordinating with departments across the Company for collating information on any concerned issues • Keeping relevant stakeholders informed on the developments on the litigations • Proactively discussing legal issues and provide solutions to the relevant stakeholders • Assist in strategically driving the material litigations by or against the Company •Ensuring that developments on any matters and pleadings are uploaded in a timely manner on the systems/software maintained by the Company • Generally take care of the litigation matters filed by or against the Company • Respond and pursue insurance claims lodged by the Company under the media liability policy and or director and officers policy Educational & Work Experiences Key Requirements: • Law Graduate. Master of Law (LL.M) would be preferred • 10-15 years’ experience post qualification Should have worked in a mid-to-large-sized corporation (preferably in Broadcasting, Media/Telecom) or a reputable law firm with clients in the Telecom, Media, and Broadcasting sectors • Critical Competencies/Traits 1.
