Job Description:

National Film Development Corporation of India, a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is the central agency established to encourage the good cinema movement in the country. The primary goal of the NFDC is to plan, promote and organize an integrated and efficient development of the Indian film industry and foster excellence in cinema. Over the years NFDC has provided a wide range of services essential to the growth of Indian cinema. The NFDC (and its predecessor the Film Finance Corporation) has so far funded / produced over 300 films. These films, in various Indian languages, have been widely acclaimed and have won many national and international awards. The corporation invites application for the post of Associate Film Programmer with the following job details.Role Responsibilities:Curate and select films that align with NFDC organized or collaborated festivals’ vision and programming strategy.Research and track films from international and domestic film festivals, markets, industry news and events.Screen and evaluate submissions, providing qualitative and analytical assessments.Collaborate with other programmers and festival teams to ensure a balanced, diverse, and engaging lineup.Assist in securing necessary screening rights, clearances, and permissions and handling the payment processes.Support the logistical and operational aspects of film screenings, including scheduling and technical coordination.Keeping records, maintaining databases and making reports as requiredAssist in coordinating hospitality arrangements for filmmakers, jury members, and special guests, ensuring a seamless festival experience.Oversee and coordinate red carpet events for major screenings, ensuring guests are escorted properly, the presentation is well-managed, and the movie starts on time. 10. Any other task assigned by superior officersNote: Personal laptop is needed until the company provides one.Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Film Making, Cinema Studies, Communications, Arts, Event Management, or a related field.Experience: 3 years’ experience in any of the following - Film Making, Film or TV Programming, Film Festival management and Arts Administration - will be considered favourably.Key Skill required: Strong organisational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.Understanding of institutional and event objectives and ability to work diligently and punctually in a team environment.Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Capability to deal with film, industry, artistes, cineastes and other diverse sections of festival stakeholdersFamiliarity with film festivals and the entertainment industry is an asset.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Film/event management software/ established, emerging and relevant AI tools.Availability to work evenings and weekends during the festival period.Remuneration: Rs. 70,000/- per month all inclusiveFor more details please go through the NFDC Contractual Advertisement or refer careers page in the NFDC Website.
