Job Title: IT Infrastructure Consultant (Linux)Department: IT InfraExperience: 5 - 7 years experience in Linux administration and managementEmployment Type: Full-Time (WFH)Position Summary:The IT Infrastructure Consultant (Linux) efficiently and effectively handles assigned projects andtechnical initiatives. They must have strong technical expertise in Linux systems and relatedmanagement tools.Key Responsibilities:• Engineering of solutions for various projects and operational needs.• Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments.• Proactively deploy and maintain Linux infrastructure 24x7x365, ensuring uptime and reliability.• Support and administer centralized image management and provisioning systems. (Koji, Kiwi,Cobbler)• Maintain RPM packaging workflows and OS image build processes. (Koji)• Support CI/CD automation for image and package builds. (Jenkins, Github Actions)• Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies anddeployment processes.• Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes.• Enforce security baselines and core system configurations.• Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning.• Fault finding, analysis and logging information for reporting of performance exceptions.• Troubleshoot and resolve production-impacting issues.• Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks.• Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of theenvironment.• Provide lifecycle management and automation support for virtual machine environments. (SaltStack / Ansible, GitHub, Docker, Container Env)Preferred Skills:• In-depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS etc.• Hands-on experience with databases on Linux• Hands-on experience with VMWare and understanding of virtualization concepts• Expert in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting• Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP and SNMP• Expertise in working with automation tools such as Ansible, Salt etc.• Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC)• Strong problem-solving and communication skills• Good learner and able to pick up new technology quickly.
