Database Developer

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support the Database team in designing, engineering, and administering database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. The role involves provisioning, securing, monitoring, and performance-tuning database systems running on Solaris/Linux/Unix and Windows, as well as supporting databases hosted on cloud platforms such as AWS RDS. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance while maintaining comprehensive documentation and supporting deployment activities.Remote role (Work from home)Singapore based clientOffshore roleWorking hours and public holidays as per SingaporeLaptop to be arranged by candidate1 yr Renewable contractKey ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, upgrade, patch, secure, and administer database platforms across on-prem and cloud environments.Manage day-to-day operations of databases including Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL, and Cloud RDS platforms.Provision, secure, optimize, and performance-tune database environments to meet business and technical requirements.Define and implement appropriate monitoring and alerting using industry-standard tools, ensuring alerts are meaningful and actionable.Monitor database health, manage alerts and tickets, and ensure timely incident resolution.Support database deployments across development, test, and production environments.Create and maintain build documents, operational runbooks, standards, and best practices.Contribute to project implementations by supporting timelines, cost, and delivery objectives.Drive and implement IT automation to reduce manual effort, improve deployment efficiency, and enable self-service capabilities.Support the implementation and maintenance of data engineering and analytics platforms.Liaise with application, infrastructure, middleware, architecture, and security teams to ensure integrated and secure solutions.Education & QualificationsDiploma or higher in Information Technology, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.Professional certifications in Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or AWS are an added advantage.Experience & SkillsMinimum 5 years of experience in database administration, preferably with Oracle and SQL Server.Strong knowledge of SQL scripting (mandatory).Experience with AWS RDS administration is preferred.Experience in MySQL administration is an added advantage.Experience in scripting for task automation (Shell, PowerShell, etc.) is an added advantage.Exposure to Cloudera Hadoop or Big Data platforms is an added advantage.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.Ability to work collaboratively across multiple IT teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.Disclaimer: The company is committed to ensuring the privacy and security of your information.
