Role: GCP Data EngineeringOverview:We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering professional to act as a subject-matter expert, delivering innovative and efficient solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality. This role involves mentoring teams, fostering high performance, and guiding career development, while effectively communicating organizational objectives and team vision.Key Responsibilities:Understand client requirements and deliver effective, scalable solutions.Analyze data transformation and translation requirements and select the appropriate tools.Design, develop, and automate data pipelines on cloud platforms, ensuring clear documentation for reproducibility.Mentor and guide team members through the development lifecycle.Perform data quality testing and assurance while designing and implementing scalable solutions using SQL.Follow deployment best practices, including automated unit testing and CI/CD processes.Technical and Functional Skills:6+ years of experience in data engineering, including 4+ years hands-on Python scripting and application development.3+ years hands-on experience with BigQuery and GCP components.Expertise in data warehousing methodologies, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques.Strong knowledge of SQL, including queries, joins, stored procedures, and user-defined functions.Solid understanding of data architecture and solution design.Experience with CI/CD, automated deployments, and QA/testing frameworks.Familiarity with Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) analytical data stores.Pub/Sub experience for streaming data is a plus.Key Attributes:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to break down complex problems into manageable solutions.Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality results.Effective communicator capable of articulating team vision, project objectives, and technical concepts.Leadership qualities with experience in mentoring, providing feedback, and motivating teams.Ability to identify new opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
