Job Description: Lead – PayrollLocation: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (On-site)Experience Level: 7-15 YearsReports To: AVP - PayrollRole ObjectiveWe are seeking a seasoned Lead - Payroll to lead our end-to-end payroll function. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, statutory compliance, and process efficiency for a large, multi-location workforce.Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Payroll Leadership- Direct the monthly payroll cycle for a workforce of 1,000+ employees, ensuring 100% accuracy in salary registers, payments and deductions. - Execute payroll using Darwinbox. - Oversee high-volume bank disbursements and file uploads, ensuring zero-error payout execution. - Lead the Full & Final (F&F) settlement process, including salary rejections and re-processing.2. Statutory Compliance & Taxation- Ensure absolute adherence to all labor laws, including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, and Gratuity. - Manage TDS processing, investment proof verification, and the issuance of Form 16. - Maintain "audit-ready" documentation and lead internal/external payroll audits. - Oversee Statutory Compliance and ensure statutory payments align with salary registers.3. Financial Integration & Reporting- Manage payroll accounting, including GL postings, accruals, and Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS). - Partner with the Finance team to align payroll outputs with corporate accounting standards. - Develop and present Payroll Analytics Dashboards, variance reports, and metrics to senior leadership.4. Process Automation- Drive digital transformation projects related to the payroll. - Optimize workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve turnaround time (TAT).Required Skills & Qualifications- Education: Bachelor of Commerce (); PGDBA in Human Resources or an MBA is highly preferred. - Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Darwinbox is essential. Advanced Excel skills for MIS and analytics. - Experience: Minimum 7 years in payroll - Soft Skills: Strong "employee-first" mindset, stakeholder management etc. - Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of Indian Labor Laws, CTC structuring.
