The company has manufacturing facilities in several states of India & across borders.Job DescriptionObjective The Head Payroll and Retirals will lead the organization’s end-to-end payroll operations, statutory compliance, taxation, and related audit governance. This role ensures accurate and timely salary processing across all entities, compliance with Indian statutory requirements, and effective stakeholder engagement. The incumbent will also drive process automation initiatives and act as the subject matter expert for payroll and tax-related systems and policies across CG Power and its subsidiaries. Job Responsibilities Payroll Management & Compliance Manage complete payroll cycle for on-roll employees, including salary, bonus, F&F settlements, and retiral benefits (PF, Gratuity, Superannuation, etc.). Ensure timely and accurate salary disbursements and statutory payments (PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Income Tax, etc.). Validate CTC changes, new joiner inputs, and monthly variable pay components before processing. Oversee the implementation and integration of Paymaster in CGAPL, ensuring smooth coordination with Surendra and other stakeholders. Statutory Audit & Accounting Liaison Liaise with statutory and internal auditors for payroll, HR accounting, and trust accounting matters. Prepare and provide PAN India payroll data and reconciliations for audit requirements. Respond to audit queries, justify transactions, and ensure zero-error audit remarks. Reconcile Paymaster and accounting data to ensure financial accuracy. Taxation & Compliance Filings Supervise the validation of investment proofs and quarterly e-TDS filing for both Workmen and Executives. Finalize and issue Form 16. Handle employee tax queries, ensuring full compliance with Income Tax Act updates and amendments. MIS & Reporting Generate periodic MIS reports for HR and Finance, including payroll cost analytics, actuarial valuations (gratuity, leave encashment), and bonus simulations. Support Company Secretarial and Finance teams with payroll-related data as per business needs. Maintain strong governance on payroll dashboards and ensure readiness for internal/external audits. Process Improvement & Digital Transformation Ensure process automation aligns with accuracy, efficiency, and compliance goals. Incorporate system updates reflecting income tax law changes and statutory amendments.Reports to Head Total Rewards, PMS, HR Digital & HR Strategy Education / Certification and Experience Education: / MCom Experience:Minimum 10–12 years of experience in payroll management, taxation, and HR systems.Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with payroll software (SAP, Paymaster, or equivalent). Advanced Excel skills and data reconciliation ability. Knowledge of Indian tax laws, PF/ESI/LWF, bonus, gratuity, and other statutory requirements. Experience with digital payroll tools and HR automation systems.Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. High integrity and confidentiality in handling employee data. Stakeholder management and collaboration across HR, Finance, and IT. Proactive learner, adaptable to new systems and regulations.
