Job Description – Senior QHSE EngineerReporting: Reports to QHSE ManagerRoles and ResponsibilitiesProvide assistance to establish Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements and facilitate Development, the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System that complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 international standard.Facilitate Development, the implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management System that complies with the requirements MECPL Mumbai HSE policies, Manual HSE, client requirements and local laws, rules and legislations.Ensure that the Contract Quality Plan /HSE have been developed to address the client requirements and requirements of ISO 9001:2015 with regard to the Contract Scope of Work.Ensure that the employees are familiar with the fundamental operational systems and have ready access to the procedures describing the quality management system.Identify problems affecting quality, HSE and report performance of the quality/HSE systems and client complaints to the executive management for intervention and improvement actions.Specific TasksAssist QHSE Manager:To maintain and develop the Quality and HSE System of MECPL Mumbai office.To plan and carry out the system and project audits.To plan and carry out regular HSE inspections and system audits at MECPL Mumbai office.To maintain the ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates: communication with LRQA Mumbai office. To develop and maintain the Quality, HSE and Working Instruction and forms. To train the staff internally in quality and HSE issues.To organize the necessary external quality / HSE training courses.To be a facilitator in corrective and preventive action procedures (NCRs) by maintaining the index and status of NCRs.To be the focal point and the facilitator for the International Standards and client standards, maintain the latest revisions in p-drive.To be the management representative of quality and HSE system To organize the quality management /HSE management review meetings.To organize the customer satisfaction surveys.To create and maintain the quality / HSE objective measurements.To be the focal point of the client for quality /HSE issues, standards and drawings.To maintain the standard description of quality /HSE system for tenders.To organize the routine management quality sessions.To report monthly to Client the quality / HSE performance key figures where required.To create and maintain Contract Quality Plans / HSE Plans for various engineering contracts.To maintain the Training Matrix of the staff.To purchase HSE gear for the staff and maintain the HSE gear.To perform supplier quality / HSE assessment prior to engagement and monitor their quality/HSE system during project performance.To support HSE supervisor (lead) in maintaining HSE system during her / his absence.To create and maintain Contract HSE Plans for major contracts.To be the facilitator of the suggestion system.Job Requirements: Qualification:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering or a related field.Lead Assessor qualification recognized by IRCA (ISO 9001:2015 Lead auditor a must)Experience in handling ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) implementation.Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, API, AISC, ACI, IEC, IEEE, ISO, etc.). Experience:Minimum 8-12 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) in a design or engineering consulting firm. Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of engineering design processes, drawing reviews, and document control.Expertise in quality audits, root cause analysis (RCA), corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or other design and modeling software for quality checks.Understanding of Design Verification, Design Review and Design Validation processes.Ability to conduct FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and risk assessment. Quality Management & Compliance:Hands-on experience with QA/QC procedures for design and drafting activities.Implementation of QA plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), and design review checklists.Knowledge of compliance with local and international engineering regulations.Experience in vendor and supplier quality assessment. Soft Skills & Leadership:Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication skills for coordinating with design engineers, project managers, and clients.Leadership experience in managing QA/QC teams and conducting training on quality processes.
