Job Description:

DescriptionThis role is to work as part of an engineering consultancy design team, taking a senior role in project design work, focused on production and liaison with the WSP in India Singapore Team and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.ResponsibilitiesPrepare feasibility study reports to meet brief requirements in the agreed format and review with the Local GCC Head of MEPAgree and monitor scope of works with the Local GCC Head of MEPClearly define building requirements and purpose of use with the Local GCC Head of MEP .Carry out detailed design to WSP in India, Singapore Building Regulations and relevant Code of Practice and standards ensuring Construction Design and Management (CDM), QA and technical review and sign off by the Local GCC Head of MEP, including complex calculations and co-ordination issuesReview and monitor the production of calculations including QA, technical reviews and sign offEnsure that information for project costing preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP in India Singapore Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisionsProvide documentary information via the WSP in India Singapore Team to assist in the preparation of tender documents, ensuring that information for tender preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, and keep the WSP in India Singapore Team informed regarding design progress through explanation of design decisionsCo-ordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and reviews input from team membersDeal with the day to day queries from the WSP in India Singapore Team, ensuring that relevant information is available ontime for construction activityReport to the WSP in India UK Team in association with the Local GCC Head of MEP any variance between the works constructed and the design intentProject manage commissions from the WSP in India Singapore Team, using applicable project management toolsLead the design process and encourage the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost effective solutions to the agreed programme.Follow in full the document control, archiving CDM and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are issued, and filed in an appropriate manner, coach junior staff in their usage Technical and Project ManagementRaise the level of technical competence within the teamsImplement delivery and quality measurement processesPromote technical excellence in all our projectsUndertake technical reviews, checks and contribute to the concept designProvide continuous feedback to the Local Head of GCC on the effectiveness of the protocols and processes in place with a view to continuous improvementDevelop positive professional relationship with the WSP in India Singapore Team, communicating openly about project progressParticipate in team meetings, disseminate information within the team, and communicate with other teams in WSP in IndiaIdentify and act on, or refer, potential risk issues and follow in full the company commercial and contracting processesManage delegated tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and flag resourcing concerns to team leaderIdentify and flag additional fees to the Local GCC Head of MEPComplete timesheet accurately ahead of weekly deadlines Assist in elements of financial managementDeputise for team leaderKey Competencies / Skills:Mandatory SkillsThe applicant will have proven experience in the design of Building Services with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.The senior applicants should ideally have obtained British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, possess a degree in Building Services Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body i.e. MIET, CIBSE, INSRAE, ASHRAEExcellent working knowledge of NBC, ISHRAE, ASHRAE and good working knowledge of UK,SG codes would be advantageous.This includes undertaking feasibility studies and developing concepts through to detailed design, specification and tender to the required standards. Development of energy strategies incorporating renewable technologies and low energy designs to satisfy local authority planning requirements and compliance with Singapore BuildingRegulations Part L.Good presentation skills are also requiredMust be fully conversant with technical software, such as Hevacomp, Amtec, Dialux.Valid passport Desired SkillsA sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essentialMust be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.Applicants need to be able to demonstrate good management and technical skills and be capable of working both within the team and independently, as dictated by work loadQualificationsB.Tech / M.Tech (Mechanical)Minimum experience 10 Years.
