Manufacturing Design Engineer (Third Party Payroll)Location: Andheri EastExperience: 1 to 2 years in in Process / Manufacturing Engineering Education: Diploma in Mechanical / Production EngineeringPOSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible to design and develop the new processes and procurement of new equipment needed for new product development, to see that Engineering team improves its responsiveness in meeting customer requirements of Time & Quality through timely execution of projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Design and develop the Assembly process, Jigs, fixtures & gauges for new products associated with Motor, Gear box and encoders. 2. Work closely with Design Team to ensure Design for Assembly (DFA) during Design process as well as for mapping new manufacturing processes & Equipment. Estimate the required capabilities and investment for production volumes. 3. Support manufacturing on critical to quality process projects to implement new technologies to improve existing equipment/processes for sustainable quality. 4. Continuously track & improve Rolled throughput yield of first five production lots of New Products (>95%). Position Description Statement 5. Responsible for smooth transition of new products from proto to production stage. 6. Responsible for implementing PPAP including Manufacturing Flow Charts, Standard Work, procedures, Route sheets, Control Plans and FMEAs as prescribed by ISO standards and ABS. 7. Work with close partnership with Operations for executing the projects FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES: 1. Knowledge and hands on experience In Assembly process design and development, Jigs and Fixtures Development, Process validation, Statistical process control, Low cost automation with poka-yoke and other Process capability and problem solving and monitoring tools. 2. Electric Motor assembly & Measurement equipment concept finalization, selection of suppliers & Procurement activities 3. Hands-on experience in 2D drawing (AutoCAD) & 3D modeling (Pro-E, Solid works) with GD&T. Jigs / Fixtures material selection. 4. Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods and/or Six Sigma 5. In depth knowledge of using the Problem-solving tools (8D, DoE, C&E Diagram) to arrive at the sustainable solution. 6. Preferred exposure to Product Development Cycle (APQP) in an engineering / manufacturing product line from concept to launch, small / medium size / precise products, rotary machines / OEMPERSONAL TRAIT / PROFILE: 1) Strong analytical and problem-solving ability 2) Results orientation – must deliver results & have sense of urgency to deliver tasks on time 3) Ability to work with cross functional teams 4) Passionate about change - lives by continuous improvement philosophy
