Job Description:
Job PurposeTo lead the engineering review and technical validation of all turbine island auxiliary systems such as lube oil, control oil, seal steam, gland sealing, jacking oil, turning gear, ejector systems, etc., as provided by the EPC contractor. The role ensures these systems meet Owner's specifications, interface requirements, and operate reliably throughout plant life.️ Key Responsibilities- Review and approve system-level documentation including P&IDs, equipment datasheets, GA drawings, system descriptions, and logic diagrams. - Ensure auxiliary systems comply with project specifications, industry codes, and contractual requirements. - Verify proper integration of auxiliary systems with turbine, generator, condenser, feedwater heaters, and balance of plant. - Participate in HAZOP/safety reviews, layout review meetings, and technical clarifications with EPC and OEMs. - Review control philosophy, interlocks, and protection logics for all critical auxiliary systems. - Coordinate with control & instrumentation, layout, and electrical teams for interface and control integration. - Provide oversight of fabrication and factory testing (FAT) of auxiliary system skids and components. - Identify technical risks in early design stages and propose mitigation measures. - Support construction and commissioning teams with technical inputs and resolution of auxiliary system issues. - Maintain a systematic record of comments, approvals, deviations, and changes related to auxiliary system engineering.Required Qualifications- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or relevant field. - Minimum 12 years of experience in engineering of turbine auxiliaries for thermal power plants (500 MW and above). - Experience in EPC project execution, OEM design, or owner’s engineering role.Preferred Skills & Knowledge- Strong understanding of rotating equipment auxiliaries, oil systems, gland sealing, and vacuum systems. - Familiarity with industry standards like ASME, API, ANSI, and IS standards. - Working knowledge of turbine trip and protection systems, redundancy logic, and fail-safe design. - Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs, control logic, 3D layouts, and installation details.Competencies- Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional coordination. - Analytical mindset with an eye for system-level integration and operational safety. - Documentation and review tracking discipline. - Proactive problem solver with a quality and compliance-first mindset.
