Lead BESS Engineer

Role is in the UAEJoin a market-leading EPC powerhouse delivering cutting-edge renewable and energy storage projects across the Middle East.We’re seeking a Lead BESS Engineer with a strong EPC background to drive the design, engineering, and execution of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and hybrid renewable projects.In this role, you’ll be at the technical core of project delivery—translating complex electrical and control designs into real-world installations that perform safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll collaborate closely with design, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure every detail meets client, quality, and performance standards.What You’ll Do:✅ Lead the end-to-end engineering of BESS systems, from concept through detailed design and commissioning support✅ Ensure designs are EPC-ready, compliant with client specifications, and optimized for constructability, cost, and reliability✅ Design and integrate battery systems, inverters, and control logics for MV/HV substation interconnection✅ Conduct technical studies and simulations using MATLAB Simulink, ETAP, and related tools✅ Prepare and review technical specifications, tenders, and vendor submittals✅ Support site teams during installation, testing, and FAT stages to resolve design or performance issues✅ Collaborate with civil, instrumentation, and CAD teams for coordinated project execution✅ Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement across system design and delivery✅ Ensure compliance with HSE and QA/QC procedures throughout all engineering phases⚙️ What You Bring:✨ 8–12 years’ experience in engineering and execution of energy storage or renewable projects within an EPC environment✨ Strong foundation in battery system and inverter design, control logic, and DC/DC converter operation✨ Proven experience preparing EPC-level designs, technical specifications, and interface documentation✨ Proficiency in MATLAB Simulink, ETAP, and related simulation tools✨ Familiarity with hybrid renewable systems—Solar PV, Wind, and Battery Storage✨ Strong understanding of constructability principles, design coordination, and multidisciplinary workflows✨ Hands-on mindset with excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and technical communication skillsWhat’s in It for You:⚡ Be the technical lead driving high-value renewable and storage EPC projects across the region⚡ Join a collaborative engineering team with a strong focus on quality, delivery, and technical excellence⚡ Gain exposure to cutting-edge BESS technologies and integrated power systems⚡ Competitive compensation, long-term project stability, and career growth within a leading EPC organizationIf you’re a detail-driven engineer who thrives on seeing your designs come to life in the field, this role offers the perfect balance of challenge, innovation, and reward.
