Purchase Engineer

Position: - Purchase EngineerExperience: - 5 to 7 yearsEducation Qualification: - BE/B.Tech- Civil/Mech.Job Responsibilities: Identify, evaluate, and select vendors/suppliers for mechanical, electrical, and project-related materials (Steel, Cement, Paints, Water Treatment Chemicals, Pipes & Fittings, Valves, Flow Meters, Hardware & Factory consumables) Prepare and process purchase orders in line with project requirements and company policies. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure cost-effective procurement. Coordinate with project, design, and site teams to understand technical requirements. Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services to avoid project delays. Maintain vendor database, evaluate supplier performance, and ensure compliance with quality standards. Follow up with suppliers for order acknowledgment, dispatch details, and logistics tracking. Prepare purchase reports, MIS, and maintain proper documentation. Support procurement planning, budgeting, and inventory control for ongoing and upcoming projects. Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and safety standards.Key Skills: Strong knowledge of procurement processes in EPC/Projects/Water Industry. Good understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/materials Vendor development and supplier relationship management. Negotiation and cost optimization skills. ERP/Procurement software knowledge preferred. Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
