Software Test Engineer

We're STGYA, a dynamic part of STI Aromas, a Hong Kong-based company. We're on the hunt for a highly motivated and skilled Software Testing Engineer to join our team. Job Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Software Tester with a strong background in both Python automation testing and manual testing. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and possess a deep understanding of the entire software development lifecycle. You will be instrumental in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products by meticulously analyzing every component and executing comprehensive test strategies. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for both new features and existing functionalities. Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Python for various software components (e.g., APIs, UIs, backend systems). Perform thorough manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, to identify defects and ensure software quality. Analyze and dissect software requirements, design specifications, and technical documentation to create effective test strategies. Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand product requirements and ensure testability. Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using bug tracking systems, working closely with developers to resolve them. Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and post-release support. Proactively identify potential risks and communicate them effectively to the team. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and tools. Mentor junior testers and share best practices within the team. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, testing tools, and emerging technologies. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 5+ years of demonstrable experience in software quality assurance and testing. Proven expertise in testing Python-based automation frameworks and scripts. Strong proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. Extensive experience with various testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum). Solid understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and software testing life cycles (STLC). Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) and concepts. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. A strong desire to analyze and understand every aspect of the software to ensure its quality. Nice to Have: Experience with performance testing, security testing, or load testing. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
