Job Description:
To serve as the strategic architect for OPEX spend across 7 formulation plants. This role is responsible for driving bottom-line impact through aggressive cost modelling, strategic sourcing , satisfactory supplier management ,SAP automation, and highly efficient procurement of consumables for all departments ,contracts and energy procurement, while ensuring 100% compliance with global regulatory standards (USFDA/MHRA) and internal financial controls.A. Strategic Sourcing & Category Management- Multi-Site Synergy: Consolidate requirements across all 7 sites to leverage economies of scale and unified negotiation power. - End-to-End OPEX Scope: Oversee procurement for Production (consumables), QC/Lab, Engineering (MRO/Spares), Warehouse, EHS, HR (Admin/Canteen), and Logistics, work contracts. - Energy & Fuel Management: Direct procurement of Power (Open Access/Grid), HSD, Furnace Oil, and Coal/Biomass. Track global indices to manage price volatility and explore renewable energy alternatives. - LTA Execution: Establish Long-Term Agreements (LTAs) with robust controls, administration and resolutions.B. SAP Optimization & Process Re-engineering- Digital Transformation: Maximize SAP MM utilization. Drive the transition from manual interventions to automated P2P workflows. - Item Code Harmonization: Lead the synergy of item codes across all 7 locations to ensure data integrity and global spend visibility. - Operational Innovation: Continuously re-engineer procurement processes to eliminate bottlenecks and "Maverick Spending."C. Financial Controllership & Decision Making- Budgetary Monitoring: Act as the financial gatekeeper for plant OPEX budgets. Monitor AOP variances and provide course-correction strategies. - Make-vs-Buy Capability: Lead cross-functional committees to evaluate the financial viability of in-housing vs. outsourcing services (e.g., maintenance, utilities, logistics). - Cost Modelling: Develop "Should-Cost" models for high-value consumables to gain an edge during negotiations. - Savings Mandate: Deliver high-level YoY savings through value engineering and volume bundling.D. People Management & Team Development- Team Leadership: Direct management of Site Procurement Leads and Cluster Managers across 7 locations. - Capability Building: Identify skill gaps and conduct periodic training on SAP modules, negotiation tactics, and pharma-specific compliance. - Performance Culture: Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and high-level internal customer service. - Succession Planning: Build a talent pipeline within the procurement function to ensure long-term business continuity.E. Compliance, Audit & Risk Mitigation- Regulatory Rigor: Ensure all vendors and processes comply with USFDA, MHRA, and WHO-GMP standards for vendor qualification and change control. - Audit Readiness: Maintain a "Zero-Defect" status for both internal financial audits and external regulatory inspections. - Single Source Challenges: Proactively identify and qualify alternate vendors for critical single-source items to reduce supply chain risk.F. MIS & Reporting- Data Analytics: Prepare and present periodic Management Information Systems (MIS). Sharp in data analytics to drive highly efficient procurement. - Reporting Metrics: Focus on Spend Analytics, Realized Savings vs. Target, Inventory Turnover, and Supplier Performance Scorecards.Education & Experience:- Education: Mandatory B.E. (Mechanical/Chemical) or M. Pharm. (MBA in Supply Chain ispreferred). - Total Experience: 15 to 20 years of post-qualification experience. - Industry Expertise: Minimum 10 years in Formulation Pharma specifically managing plant-level OPEX procurement. - Leadership Capabilities: Proven experience in managing multi-site operations
