Every exhibit, program, and experience at MuSo is crafted to empower children to take on the world’s biggest challenges through creativity, collaboration, and courage.About the RoleThe Lead Maker / Make Lab Manager is responsible for the overall functioning, quality, and direction of the Make Lab. This role combines facilitation excellence, programme leadership, and people and operational management.They are accountable for how the Make Lab runs, feels, and evolves.The Lead Maker is accountable for overall Make Lab quality, operations, and team performance, with final decision-making authority on programming, escalations, and studio priorities.What You’ll Do1. Facilitation & Experience excellenceBe the 10/10 benchmark for Make Lab facilitation.Step in for complex facilitation, large school groups, or sensitive situations.Ensure a consistently high-quality making experience for all visitors.2. Team Leadership & People ManagementManage day-to-day Make Lab operations and staffing.Create and manage rosters, breaks, and on-floor deployment.Build a collaborative, respectful, and motivated team culture.Support onboarding, training, and performance development of the team.3. Programming & Studio strategyLead the design, evolution, and delivery of Make Lab programmes.Ensure studio activities remain relevant, engaging, and learning-driven.Align Make Lab programming with MuSo’s broader learning goals and themes.4. School Partnerships & OperationsOversee planning and execution of school group visits.Ensure smooth coordination, time management, and clear learning outcomes.Act as the key escalation point for educators and institutional partners.5. Studio operations, Inventory & SafetyOwn tool, material, and equipment inventory for the Make Lab.Ensure safety standards and maintenance protocols are followed consistently.Coordinate repairs, replenishment, and studio upgrades with relevant teams.6.
