B. About the Role: The Senior Analyst / Analyst – Enterprise SaaS will be responsible for post-implementation management of a large-scale power sector energy portfolio management assignment for a large State-owned distribution utility in Lucknow involving various activities which are as follows:Design, implementation, and maintaining of a Business Analytics and Demand Forecasting software solution, including (but not limited to) the following modules:Load Forecasting including short term, medium term, long term and RE forecasting.Scenario AnalysisDemand Supply position mapEnergy Portfolio ManagementScheduling OptimizationTrade OptimizationReal time Network Monitoring and Demand ManagementDeviation Settlement AnalysisIntegration of proposed solution with MSEDCL existing system, SCADA & proposed Substation Monitoring Scheme (SMS) of MSEDCL, Existing AMR & SCADA of MSETCL, Scheduling software of MSLDC/WRLDC.Fetching all necessary data from external sources required as input for forecasting, Optimization and analysis purposeDebriefing with Analytics including optimization with AI and ML and documenting causes, effect, pattern and results using incident specific data based on time, date and location.Designing Live Dashboard for Business Analytics and Current Status of Incidents.Provide Facility Management Service (FMS) for Application Maintenance for five years.C. Detailed expectations from the role: We seek a professional with minimum 3 years of experience in the area of Energy Portfolio Management. The individual shall be placed at the level of Senior Analyst / Analyst – Enterprise SaaS and should necessarily be able to deliver along the following lines:To be a key member of the Business Analytics and Demand Forecasting software solution project team and ensure client satisfaction with the successful execution of the assignment reliable and more accurate Demand/Supply forecast so that proper energy planning of state / utility could be achieved with the prime objective to provide best possible power portfolio optimization solutions. Thoroughly review the developed software’s on day-to-day basis to ensure it is ready for real-time operation and resolve all issues raised by the client.Maintain the accuracy of Load forecasting and other forecasts, including Renewable Energy (RE), price, and agriculture forecasts, to ensure (MAPE) remains within the stipulated SLA limits.To manage and deliver various tasks related to day-to-day buy/sell trades, price forecasting, financial analysis, demand / supply planning and cost optimization under the Energy Portfolio Management services to the satisfaction of the client.To support the Client in various allied activities related to energy trading and accounting under the EPM services.To prepare periodic reports (daily / weekly / monthly/ short term/ Medium Term and Long term) along with its financial implications.Managing the power portfolio management through energy optimization tools in manual mode as well as developed SaaS solutions.Keep a track of generation schedules from different generators/suppliers and analyze day to day activities of power portfolio management like Decision for Reserve Shutdown, Energy Exchange scenario, Banking proposals analysis etc.To assist client in Power Market Scenarios and Energy Portfolio Risk Management.To review and provide comments on regulatory drafts, notifications, and regulations, and to prepare reports in compliance with the regulations enforced by the Commission, as and when required by the client.To assist client in Financial Risk Management of Power Portfolio so as to reduce the financial risks associated along with optimizing the cost of Power Purchase PortfolioMicro management of power schedule of state utilities and generators to mitigate the demand of utility to ensure uninterrupted supply to end users.Supporting the client and analysts in activities related to energy trading and accounting.D. Required skill set Experience in demand/supply forecasting, electricity markets (in power exchange / trading), power system operations, Regulatory or Power Sector Consultancy in India, Basic Understanding on Regulations related to Power Markets, Grid Code, Connectivity, Tariff (preferred)The candidate should possess knowledge and expertise in various aspects of the Indian power markets, including economic, policy, regulatory, technical and commercial aspects.Understanding of Energy Portfolio Management activities including Demand Forecasting, Scheduling, Power Sale/Purchase on Exchange PlatformsAbility to do financial assessments / analysis / designing cash flows / cost benefit. Analyze sector dynamics from all relevant angles (demand-supply, price movement, profitability, changing regulatory and competitive landscape under various power market scenarios).Deep dive analysis on power markets to bring critical strategic insights.Supporting clients with creation and updation of detailed financial models with respect to power market industry and project-based assumptions.Flair to get market intelligence and skill to sense business and commercial insights.Good Communication Skills and ability to interact with multiple clients/stakeholders.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (including advanced Excel skills), The candidate should be able to provide analytical solutions on Energy transactions along with financial modelling using Advance Excel and python. Also have knowledge in different library in python for data structuring and data analysis.Strong report-writing and Excel skills (mandatory). The candidate should possess excellent drafting skills and be capable of conceptualizing and preparing effective PowerPoint presentations as well as reports. The candidate should also possess strong collaboration and client relationship management skills.The candidate should have strong command of management principles pertaining to business development and intelligence, operations, and growth in order to manage a team.The candidate should be flexible to work in shift duties, as this is an essential part of the project to fulfill the facility management service.The candidate should be adaptable and capable of working collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless operational functioning.E. Education and Experience B. Tech. in Electrical/ Computer Science/IT/Electronics and associated branches from reputed Institutes Minimum 3 years’ experience in Demand / Supply Forecasting, Energy Planning of Discoms/Utilities & Optimization of energy transactions for power portfolio management of State Discoms/Utilities etc.F.
