Retail Design - AVP

Role OverviewYou will play a pivotal role in shaping the design vision, quality, and execution of the retail center. This role requires a deep understanding of retail environments, customer experience, architectural detailing, and coordination with consultants, vendors, and stakeholders. She/he will ensure that design intent aligns with the brand positioning, commercial strategy, and operational efficiency of the retail center.Key Responsibilities1. Design Leadership & Concept Development Develop and refine the design vision for the retail center in alignment with the overall business and brand strategy. Create design guidelines, standards, and reference frameworks for both base building and tenant fit-outs. Lead concept ideation for key spaces (common areas, façade, atriums, amenities, signage, wayfinding).2. Project Design Management Oversee design development from concept through schematic, design development, and construction drawings. Review and coordinate architectural, interior, MEP, façade, landscape, and signage designs to ensure integration. Manage design deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality.3. Stakeholder & Consultant Coordination Liaise with architects, consultants, contractors, and tenant design teams to ensure consistency with design guidelines. Collaborate with leasing, operations, and marketing teams to integrate commercial and customer requirements into design. Review tenant design submissions and provide approvals/feedback.4. Quality & Compliance Ensure compliance with local building codes, accessibility standards, sustainability benchmarks, and fire & life safety norms. Monitor material selection and detailing to ensure durability, functionality, and premium aesthetics. Conduct periodic site inspections to validate adherence to design intent.5. Innovation & Trends Research and integrate global best practices in retail design, placemaking, and customer experience. Incorporate sustainability, digital integration, and experiential design elements into projects. Benchmark against leading malls and retail destinations internationally.Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field (Master’s preferred). 12+ years of experience in retail, commercial, or mixed-use design with a strong portfolio of executed projects. Proven expertise in design coordination, detailing, and execution within large-scale developments. Strong knowledge of building codes, retail design standards, and tenant coordination processes. Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).Key Skills Strong design sensibility with an eye for detail and aesthetics. Excellent project management and coordination skills. Ability to balance creative vision with commercial and operational realities. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Innovative mindset with awareness of global retail and lifestyle trends.Why Join Us?This role offers the opportunity to shape India’s most premium high street retail destinations,working with top architects, designers, and retail brands.
