Based in Bhavanagar with operations in Ahmedabad and a warehouse in Tansa and starting operations in Mumbai now. We specialize in sourcing high-quality marine automation, industrial automation, PLCs, processors, instrumentation, and heavy electrical. We're rapidly expanding our procurement team to unlock massive untapped market potential and scales our operations significantly.The Opportunity:Join our newly formed Mumbai procurement team and work with a diverse range of marine and industrial automation products. You'll be sourcing from new markets, overseas suppliers, stockists, and directly from industrial and marine automation companies - giving you exposure to strategic procurement across multiple channels and geographies.What makes this role exciting: Global Exposure : 85% of our business is international (UK, US, Canada, Netherlands, Singapore, Turkey, Italy, Germany) Unique Products : Work with specialized marine automation, industrial controls, PLCs, instrumentation, and heavy electricals High Growth : Rapidly scaling company with massive career growth opportunity Impact : Help convert 160+ daily unfulfilled customer queries into sales Learning : Exposure to new market development, overseas procurement, and international sourcingKey Responsibilities: Procurement Operations (60%) Handle daily procurement requisitions from sales team for unavailable inventory items Source marine and industrial automation products from multiple channels: New market vendors and suppliers (domestic and international) Overseas manufacturers and authorized distributors Stockists and dealers of marine/industrial automation equipment Direct procurement from industrial and marine automation companies OEM/brand principals and their authorized channels Generate RFQs based on customer specifications and technical requirements Validate product specifications, compatibility, and quality parameters Obtain competitive quotations from multiple suppliers across different geographies Negotiate pricing, payment terms, credit periods, and delivery schedules Process Purchase Orders and track order fulfillment Coordinate international shipments and import documentation when requiredVendor Management (25%) Identify and onboard new vendors/suppliers across different sourcing channels Develop new market sources - explore untapped suppliers and regions Conduct vendor validation and due diligence (genuineness, reliability, quality, financial stability) Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers for repeat sourcing Evaluate vendor performance on quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and responsiveness Develop contingency supplier networks for critical product categories Attend vendor meets, trade shows, and industry events for networkingData & Analysis (10%) Maintain accurate procurement records in Excel and upcoming ERP system Track procurement metrics: conversion rates, average procurement time, order values Analyze repeat customer queries to identify high-demand products for proactive stocking Monitor supplier pricing trends and market intelligence Provide regular reports on procurement performance to ManagerCross-functional Collaboration (5%) Work closely with Sales team to understand customer requirements Coordinate with QC team for quality verification of procured items Collaborate with Warehouse team for inventory planning and logistics Support Finance team with vendor documentation and payment processing Liaise with Logistics/Import team for international procurement coordinationMust-Have QualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Science, or Engineering Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics is highly preferredExperience 3-5 years of hands-on B2B procurement experience Mandatory : Experience in Marine industry OR Industrial automation OR Electrical/Electronic equipment procurement Proven track record of vendor development and negotiation Experience with multi-channel sourcing (not just catalogue buying) Exposure to new vendor identification and market developmentTechnical Knowledge Working knowledge of marine automation equipment, industrial controls, or electrical/electronic instrumentation Ability to read technical specifications, datasheets, and equipment catalogues Understanding of product compatibility, substitutions, and technical equivalents Basic knowledge of marine/industrial automation brands (ABB, Siemens, Schneider, Allen Bradley, etc.)Skills Advanced MS Excel (Pivot tables, VLookup, data analysis) MS Word and PowerPoint for documentation and presentations Basic understanding of ERP systems (training will be provided) Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills Clear verbal and written communication in English Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Comfortable with international communication (email, calls with overseas suppliers)Good-to-Have Qualifications Knowledge of international procurement and import procedures (Incoterms, LC, customs clearance) Experience in overseas sourcing (China, Europe, USA, Southeast Asia) Familiarity with marine equipment brands and industrial automation manufacturers Working knowledge of Power BI or data visualization tools Prior experience in fast-growing or startup environments Understanding of marine certifications and compliance requirementsWhat We're Looking For (Behavioral Traits) Hustle & Initiative : Self-starter who can hunt for products across multiple channels and geographies Quick Learner : Ability to rapidly understand diverse technical products Relationship Builder : Natural at building trust with vendors and internal teams Problem Solver : Creative in finding solutions when standard channels don't work Results-Oriented : Driven by conversion rates and closing deals Adaptable : Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities in a growth environment Persistent : Doesn't give up easily when sourcing difficult-to-find itemsKey Performance Indicators (KPIs) Procurement conversion rate (target: 10-15% of assigned requisitions) Average time from requisition to quote generation Number of new vendors/sources on boarded per month Cost savings achieved through negotiation Customer satisfaction on fulfilled orders (quality and delivery) Success rate in sourcing from new markets/overseas suppliersWhat We Offer Competitive compensation package Opportunity to be part of a high-growth company's expansion journey Learning and development in specialized marine and industrial automation markets Direct exposure to international business operations Career progression to senior procurement roles as the company scales Collaborative work environment with direct access to leadershipSelection Process Resume screening HR Round Technical Round with Manager -
