Job Description:
This is a key leadership role within the NZ GCC group within WSP in India. You will be leading the team in India supporting the regional business and delivering key infrastructure projects serving communities across New Zealand. The team is comprised of Civil and Mechanical engineers specialising in water infrastructure projects like Conveyance, Pumping Stations, Treatment Plants, Water retaining Structures etc. across multiple service domains like Clean Water, Waste Water and Storm Water. An ideal candidate would have adequate commercial acumen to meet business expectations as well as mentor and guide young professionals across hydraulic modelling, water engineering and digital delivery of projects. You should be able to navigate between conflicting priorities and keep the team gainfully engaged and motivated while delivering projects with keen client focus and ability to identify and mitigate risks in potentially volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous market conditions.ResponsibilitiesLead a team of young water professionals, manage project pipelines, ensure resources are available and gainfully engaged, oversee technical excellence etc. Liaise and work closely with Sector leadership and peer groups across India and New Zealand; Act as a brand ambassador of NZ GCC within WSP in India and across geographies. Guide, mentor and coach junior team members in technical domains and ensure professional growth of individuals within the team. Ensure deliveries meet and exceed expectations around Time, Cost and Quality; Design and implement Quality Assurance protocols. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, tolerances, safety factors and project brief. Participate in and support SHEQ within their scope of duties; Promote Diversity and Inclusion.Key Competencies Mandatory Skills Ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders and across cross-cultural teams. Demonstrable aptitude as an exceptional people manager who can identify, groom and retain talent leading to the growth of a high-performing team. Past experience in leading teams and designing large scale water infrastructure projects in both Domestic (Indian) and Global markets. Understanding and past experience of working with standards and codes in different geographies. Hands-on expertise across common business applications like advanced MS Office, Power BI etc.Desired Skills Past experience in AU/NZ projects is preferred; should at least have experience in UK/US/ME projects Keen sense of digital enablement and wide understanding of prevalent digital tools like Autodesk Innovyze products for Hydraulic Modelling and BIM modelling platforms like Civil3D, Plant3D, Revit etc.QualificationsMasters Degreein Water Resource Engineering or Environmental Engineering or similar Fully Chartered Memberof a professional body like CIWEM, ICE etc. or equivalentExperience 18+ yearsof post qualification experience including at least 5 years in leadership roles. Past experience inAU/NZprojects is preferred; should at least have experience in overseas (UK/US/ME) Water and Wet Utilities projects.
