Position: Head – Corporate Strategy (Infrastructure & Energy), Head Office Reports To: Group Head – Corporate Strategy (L&T) Location: Mumbai (Head Office) Department: Corporate Strategy Experience Required: 25+ years (Hands on exposure to energy and Infrastructure sectors preferred) Educational Qualifications: B.E plus MBA Role Overview: The Head – Corporate Strategy (Infrastructure & Energy) will lead the strategic thinking and direction-setting primarily for L&T’s Infrastructure and Energy businesses. The incumbent will bring deep industry expertise, understanding impact of micro and macro-economic changes, geopolitical triggers, and sharp competitive insight to support immediate and long-term business success. This role will serve as a key advisor to senior leadership and business heads, driving initiatives that influence investment decisions, operational alignment, innovation, and future growth opportunities. Job holder is expected to have an active network with relevant industry bodies and to engage with the leading consulting firms associated with these sectors to get required insights. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Thought Leadership Develop and continuously refine medium- and long-term strategy for L&T’s Infrastructure & Energy verticals, aligned with macroeconomic trends, regulatory shifts, and market dynamics. Lead the identification of emerging opportunities (domestic and international), including diversification, partnerships, and inorganic growth. Collaborate with senior business leaders to translate strategy into actionable initiatives across businesses. Market Intelligence & Industry Analysis Monitor global and domestic economic indicators, policy changes, and technological disruptions impacting the infrastructure and energy landscape. Track competitor strategies, M&A activity, industry benchmarks, and customer needs to provide timely, data-driven insights. Engage with industry experts, think tanks, and global consulting firms to gather best practices and cross-industry learnings. Business Advisory Provide ongoing strategic counsel to Business Heads and CXOs on key challenges and opportunities. Drive scenario planning, risk assessment, and sensitivity analyses to support decision-making. Identify cost optimization, operational improvement, and transformation levers to strengthen competitiveness. Stakeholder Engagement Represent L&T in industry bodies, forums, and associations to enhance brand visibility and influence policy directions. Build and nurture relationships with regulators, analysts, consultants, and key ecosystem players relevant to infrastructure and energy sectors. Team Leadership & Capability Building Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing strategy team across geographies and business units. Foster a culture of analytical rigor, innovation, and continuous learning within the Corporate Strategy function. Ensure team alignment with enterprise strategy while supporting their individual career progression. Qualifications & Experience: Postgraduate degree in Business Administration (MBA) from a Tier-1 institute or equivalent; engineering background preferred. Minimum 25 years of experience with at least 10 years in a senior strategy role within large conglomerates or consulting firms (preferably in infrastructure, construction, energy, or capital-intensive industries). Proven track record of leading strategic initiatives with measurable business impact. Strong understanding of infrastructure and energy sector dynamics, both domestic and international. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working closely with C-level executives. Key Competencies: Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture while diving into critical details. Market and commercial acumen: Deep awareness of industry trends, regulatory changes, and geopolitical influences.
