Job Description – Senior Brand Planning Director Location: Mumbai, Lower Parel Experience Required: 8–12 years in brand planning & strategy within leading advertising agencies About the Role As a Senior Brand Planning Director at Schbang, you will spearhead the strategic planning function across some of India’s most ambitious and dynamic brands. This role demands a visionary strategist and inspiring leader who can combine deep consumer insight, data-backed decision-making, and creative thinking to craft integrated strategies that unlock real business impact. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Growth Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing planning team with a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability. Lead manpower planning, skill-building initiatives, and succession planning for the strategy function. Drive an integrated mindset across planning, creative, media, tech, and influencer marketing teams. Strategic Planning & Business Growth Develop annual and quarterly brand strategies aligned with client business goals. Translate cultural insights, market data, and research into actionable brand strategies and campaign narratives. Lead multi-sector strategy across FMCG, BFSI, Auto, Tech, Entertainment, and emerging industries. Identify opportunities to mine existing clients and expand into new mandates through strategic foresight. Client Leadership & Delivery Partner closely with CXOs, marketing heads, and brand custodians to influence long-term brand roadmaps. Deliver integrated go-to-market strategies , category-first ideas, and measurable growth solutions. Oversee planning for major product launches, repositioning, market penetration, and consumer engagement strategies. Ensure teams deliver award-worthy work (Effies, Cannes, Kyoorius, etc.) backed by sharp insight and creativity. Innovation & Process Excellence Establish best-in-class planning processes: KPI frameworks, annual operating plans, and master strategy sheets. Introduce innovative tools, automation, and research methodologies that elevate strategic thinking. Audit and challenge existing strategy practices to ensure Schbang stays ahead of industry trends. Thought Leadership & Representation Represent Schbang’s strategy voice in forums, jury panels, and industry conversations. Create PR opportunities that position Schbang as a leading force in strategy, creativity, and integrated marketing. Skills & Qualities We’re Looking For Strong analytical thinking with an ability to translate data into sharp insights and actionable strategies. Proven ability to lead large strategy teams and deliver business outcomes. Deep knowledge of consumer behavior, cultural trends, and brand storytelling. Track record of winning and retaining marquee accounts and growing mandates at scale. Experience in delivering award-winning campaigns with business impact. Excellent communication, client presentation, and leadership skills. Preferred Background 8–12 years of experience in brand planning & strategy within advertising agencies. Demonstrated experience leading large teams and managing high-value client portfolios. Exposure across multiple sectors (FMCG, Auto, BFSI, Tech, Entertainment, etc.). Postgraduate qualification in Communications, Marketing, or Business is preferred.
