Job Title: Senior Scientist – Process SimulationCompany: Corporate R&D – Aditya Birla Science & Technology Location: Taloja, Navi Mumbai Work Model: Work from Office (Mon–Fri) Experience: 5+ years CTC: ₹18-20 LPA Joining: Immediate to 30 days preferredRole SummaryWe are looking for a Chemical Engineer with 5+ years of experience in process improvement and development within metallurgical or process industries. The role involves delivering scientific and technical solutions through research and development programs, with a strong focus on process simulation, optimization, and technical problem-solving.The incumbent will be responsible for technical ideation, scoping, and execution of new R&D projects, while contributing towards publications, technical papers, and presentations. The role also requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and plant operations for implementation of process improvement initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive process improvement and development initiatives for metallurgical/process industries. Perform simulation and optimization studies related to flow and thermal behavior of critical plant operations using ANSYS Fluent. Develop scientific and technical solutions through applied R&D programs. Identify, conceptualize, and scope new R&D opportunities and projects. Work closely with plant teams for troubleshooting, validation, and implementation of solutions. Prepare technical reports, publications, presentations, and knowledge-sharing documents. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams for project execution. Educational QualificationMaster’s degree in chemical engineering from IIT’s, IISC, ICT. ExperienceMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in process optimization and simulation within metallurgical/process industries or R&D environments. Must-Have SkillsStrong understanding of chemical process systems such as: Stirred Tank Reactors Combustion Systems Cyclones Multiphase Reactors Hands-on experience in ANSYS Fluent for process simulation and thermal/flow analysis. Ability to work collaboratively within teams and at plant sites. Good-to-Have SkillsExperience in process industries and/or industrial R&D environments. Exposure to modeling tools such as Star CCM+ and Aspen. Knowledge of programming and data analytics tools such as Python. Technical publication or presentation experience in conferences/journals.
