Position: Design Thinking & Innovation Teacher (Gr. 9 & 12)Function/School: The Somaiya SchoolLocation: Vidyavihar EastCompensation: Based on skill sets, experience and sector standardsReports to: Secondary and Senior Secondary CoordinatorEducation: MFA or Graduate with Diploma/Certificate course in DesigningExperience:Candidates with minimum 2 years relevant teaching experience are preferredJob Description: Undergoing an induction programme to imbibe in them the philosophy of The Somaiya School.Designing and implementing the curriculum for the given class.To organize and prepare learning materials and resources.To use a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, act,outdoor activities etc.) to motivate and stimulate the childs abilities.Maintain open line of communication with the reporting authorities and provide appropriate information.Preparing synopsis of the work done in class.Follow and comply with teaching standards and safety regulations.Preparing and maintaining the assessment documents and portfolio of each student in the class.Maintaining progress and Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation reports of students of the class.Maintaining anecdotal records of children.Preparing individualized database for the students of the classContacting parents, when needed, with the permission of the Principal and apprising them about the academic progress of the children.Communicating with parents through a handbook as and when required under the guidance of your authorities.Conducting IWP and Open Days under the guidance of authorities.Documenting best practices when the school activities are underway.Maintaining inventory for class equipment and materials.Preparation of proposals for action research projects to improve teaching-learning processes.Undergoing capacity building activities on content and concept related learning areas from time to time.Providing additional coaching to children of The Somaiya School, whenever there is a need.Accepting any other responsibility, as assigned by the Secondary from time to time, aimed at improving the overall performance of the school.Being open to feedback and working on the feedback to improve yourself.Submitting self-performance appraisal report to the Secondary & Sr Secondary Coordinator of the school.To be patient, pleasant, caring and enthusiastic teacher, students would love to interact and associate with.Assuming additional responsibilities, as assigned by the Principal, for co-curricular activities of the school.Any work, as assigned by the Principal.
