Senior Matchmove Artist

Position OverviewStrong skills of Camera Tracking/Object Tracking/Body Tracking, reconstructing model with reference images etc.Should have good troubleshooting skills.Should able to handle complex camerasFor Body Trackers should be able to do tight body track.Convert background plates to various formats to use with specific software to create digital motion files that match the plate photography. This may include animating any live-action character or relative object in the scene.Establish character blocking, camera positioning and animate camera movement.Provide technical set-up of shots for downstream production departments.Model the set geometry used to create the matchmove and environment for animators and Technical Directors. Lights, renders and composites files with the background to judge the moveMaintain a professional level of knowledge about current developments in matchmove tools for computer graphics, especially in areas that relate to the film industry.Required Skills and ExperienceExperience tracking shots in Syntheyes or 3d EqualizerStrong knowledge of Layout in 3DSMax or MayaStrong computer aptitude: Knowledge of Syntheyes or 3d Equalizer, Maya or 3DSMax, and NukeAt least 6 + years’ animation experienceCamera knowledge and on set skills a plusAbility to learn facility pipeline to be able to provide cameras and layouts to the other departmentsExperience and knowledge of fast turnaround television workStrong critical thinking on layout and pipeline procedures are essential to the positionAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentMust take direction well and implementing changes with quick turn aroundStrong organization, problem-solving, and project management; attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and written communication skillsCommitment to excellence and willingness to work in a team environment in achieving
