Job Title: Paint / Prep Artist – VFX DepartmentLocation: Sakinaka, Mumbai (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time / ContractAbout the Role We are looking for a skilled Paint/Prep Artist to join our VFX team. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, strong technical skills in Nuke (and related tools), and the ability to deliver clean, seamless shots for high-end film, OTT, and commercial projects. You will work closely with compositors, roto artists, and supervisors to ensure all plates are prepared and cleaned to the highest visual standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform paint and prep tasks including rig/wire removal, marker cleanup, plate restoration, beauty clean-up, and object removal. Create clean plates and seamless paint fixes using a combination of 2D and 3D techniques. Collaborate with the compositing and roto departments to ensure clean, production-ready plates. Maintain the continuity and consistency of shots across sequences. Optimize and troubleshoot paint/prep scripts for efficiency and performance. Follow the studio’s color pipeline and file-naming conventions. Meet project deadlines while maintaining the required visual quality standards.Required Skills & ExperienceProficiency in Nuke (mandatory). Strong understanding of Roto, Tracking, and Plate Preparation workflows. Experience with 2D and 3D projections, warping, and paint node techniques. Ability to handle complex cleanup tasks independently. Familiarity with camera projections, grain management, and color space workflows. Minimum 1–3 years of production experience in a VFX studio (freshers with strong demo reels may also apply).Nice to HaveBasic understanding of Silhouette, Mocha, or Photoshop. Knowledge of Python or TCL scripting for Nuke automation is a plus. A creative eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
