It’s a dynamic ecosystem where academia, industry, and students converge to drive innovation and uphold academic excellence.Job Description:The Assistant Manager – Finance and Accounts will support end‑to‑end accounting operations, statutory and regulatory compliance, financial reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong attention to detail, compliance orientation, and the ability to work within a structured, process-driven environment, particularly in the context of grants, research funding, and non-profit accounting.Roles and Responsibilities:1.Accounting & Financial OperationsSupport the F&A Manager in day-to-day accounting and finance operations.Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with accounting standards.Manage accounts payable, including invoice verification, approvals, and vendor payments.Oversee accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, receipt tracking, and follow-ups.Perform regular bank, ledger, and inter-account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.pliance & Statutory ReportingEnsure timely compliance with GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, and other applicable laws.Prepare and review statutory returns and coordinate filings with consultants.Assist in handling notices, assessments, and queries from statutory authorities.Support year-end closing activities and statutory, internal, and external audits.3.Budgeting, MIS & ReportingTrack expenses against approved budgets and flag variances with explanations.Assist in preparation of MIS, financial dashboards, and periodic management reports.Support budget preparation, forecasting, and fund utilization monitoring.Reconcile project- or grant-wise expenditures as required.4.Grants & Non-Profit AccountingAssist in accounting and reporting for government, CSR, and research grants.Ensure compliance with donor agreements, funding guidelines, and utilization norms.Maintain proper documentation for grant audits and reporting requirements.5.Process & ControlsEnsure adherence to internal financial controls and SOPs.Support process improvements, automation, and documentation of workflows.Maintain orderly financial records and documentation for audits and reviews.6.Stakeholder & Team CoordinationCoordinate with internal teams for data, approvals, and documentation.Liaise with auditors, consultants, banks, and vendors as required.Supervise and guide junior team members/associates.Key Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliances.Basic understanding of labour law compliances (PF, ESIC, PT, etc.).Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).Hands-on experience with accounting/ERP software.Understanding of grant accounting and fund tracking (preferred).Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.Good documentation and communication skills.Desired Attributes:High integrity, accuracy, and accountability.Strong process and compliance orientation.Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Team player with the ability to coordinate across functions.Adaptable and open to learning in a dynamic research/innovation environment.Soft Skills: Strong communication skills for clear coordination with internal teams, auditors, consultants, and vendors.High attention to detail with a strong sense of accuracy and ownership.Good time-management and prioritization skills to handle multiple deadlines.Analytical and problem-solving mindset for resolving discrepancies and compliance issues.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.Professional maturity, integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.Proactive approach with the ability to flag risks, gaps, and improvement areas.Adaptability to work in a dynamic, research-driven, and compliance-focused environment.We are an equal-opportunity employer.
