Director – Merchant BankingLocation: MumbaiDepartment: Investment Banking / Merchant BankingReporting To: Managing DirectorRole Overview:The Director – Merchant Banking will lead and manage end-to-end execution of capitalmarket transactions, including IPOs, private placements, debt syndication, and advisorymandates. The role requires strong leadership, client relationship management, anddeep expertise in financial markets and regulatory frameworks.Key Responsibilities:* Lead origination and execution of merchant banking mandates such as IPOs,QIPs, rights issues, and private equity placements* Develop and maintain relationships with corporates, institutional investors, andkey stakeholders* Oversee preparation of offer documents, financial models, valuation analysis,and pitch presentations* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including guidelines prescribedby Securities and Exchange Board of India* Manage due diligence, structuring, pricing, and transaction execution* Coordinate with legal advisors, auditors, registrars, and other intermediaries* Drive business development initiatives and identify new revenue opportunities* Mentor and lead a team of analysts and associates* Monitor market trends and provide strategic advisory to clientsKey Requirements:* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related field;MBA/CA/CFA preferred* Minimum 10–15 years of experience in merchant banking / investment banking* Strong understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and regulatoryenvironment* Proven track record of successfully executing deals (IPO, M&A, fundraising, etc.)* Excellent client management, negotiation, and leadership skills* Strong analytical and financial modeling expertise* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transactions simultaneouslyPreferred Skills:* Strong network with institutional investors and corporate clients* Knowledge of global financial markets and cross-border transactions* Exceptional communication and presentation skillsKey Competencies:* Strategic Thinkin* Leadership & Team Management* Client Relationship Management* Execution Excellence* Regulatory Compliance
