The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the complete financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance, driving effective taxation strategies, and leading the audit and accounts functions.Key Responsibilities: Accounts Management: Oversee the complete accounting operations of the company, ensuring timely and accurate financial records. Supervise the preparation of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow). Ensure proper reconciliation of all accounts, including bank, vendor, and customer accounts. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely settlements. Lead and ensure that all accounting processes comply with Indian accounting standards (Ind-AS) and regulatory frameworks. 2. Taxation: Develop and implement tax strategies to ensure tax efficiency and compliance with Indian taxation laws. Handle all aspects of indirect taxes (GST) and direct taxes (Income Tax). Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns, TDS/TCS returns, and income tax returns. Monitor and advise on tax implications of business decisions, structuring, and transactions. Lead the tax planning process and provide actionable insights to reduce tax liabilities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Indian taxation laws, GST updates, and compliance requirements. 3. Audit: Oversee the internal and external audit processes, ensuring the company adheres to auditing standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with auditors for quarterly and annual audits. Review and implement audit recommendations to strengthen financial processes and controls. Ensure that the company maintains a strong system of internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure accuracy. 4. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, including the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST Act, and other relevant Indian laws. Handle assessments, tax audits, and coordinate with regulatory bodies (Income Tax Department, GST Department, etc.). Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax laws and accounting standards. 5. Team Leadership & Management: Lead a team of accountants and finance professionals to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Provide training and guidance to the accounting and finance team on best practices, processes, and regulatory compliance. Motivate and manage the team to deliver results while ensuring continuous development and performance improvement. 6. Financial Planning and Analysis: Collaborate with the management team to create financial plans and forecasts aligned with business objectives. Prepare detailed reports for senior leadership on financial performance, variances, and forecasting. Assist in budgeting and financial projections for the company’s growth strategy.Desired Skills & Qualifications: Educational Qualifications: CA (Chartered Accountant)Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, taxation, and audit, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or leadership role. Previous experience in a trading company or startup environment would be highly desirable. In-depth knowledge of GST, TDS, TCS, direct taxes, and accounting standards in India. Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, or similar). Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Indian accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations. Advanced proficiency in Excel and other financial modeling tools. Knowledge of financial reporting, audit, and regulatory compliance procedures. Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communicator, with the ability to explain complex financial matters to non-financial stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
