Indirect Taxation Associate

Job Posting: Indirect Tax Law Associate (GST) Location: Mumbai & Navi Mumbai (On-site) Firm: AXIL Legal LLP Employment Type: Full-time About the Role: AXIL Legal LLP is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Indirect Tax Law Associate (GST) to join our Mumbai office. The role involves end-to-end handling of indirect tax compliance, advisory, and proceedings matters. The candidate will work closely with clients across industries, offering practical tax solutions, managing GST compliance obligations, and providing litigation support. Key Responsibilities: 1.   Manage multiple GST registrations monthly & annual compliances across clients. 2.   Prepare and file GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C in line with firm SOPs. 3.   Maintain ITC Registers and ensure reconciliations as per prescribed procedures. 4.   Provide advisory support on complex GST transaction issues. 5.   Assist in drafting replies to departmental notices in GST proceedings. 6.   Work extensively with voluminous data using: Excel (Professional level of expertise required) SAP (Fundamental knowledge required) Tally (Fundamental knowledge required) 7.   Coordinate with clients and ensure timely compliance within statutory deadlines. Qualifications & Skills Required: ·      Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Law / CA Finalist / CA Inter Passed (Candidates with these qualifications shall get preference, however not mandatory). ·      Working knowledge of GST laws, rules, and compliance framework. ·      Proven experience in handling GST compliance and advisory services. ·      Good working knowledge of SAP, Tally, and large-scale data handling in Excel. ·      Excellent drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. ·      Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to liaise effectively with clients and authorities. ·      Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments with accuracy and efficiency.
