Job Description:
Junior Textile Designer would be responsible for creating designs for fabrics and textiles used in home furnishing fabrics (curtains, upholstery and sheers). This role involves working closely with senior designer, production team, and vendors to ensure that designs meet specifications and market trends. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in design software, colour theory, and textile production processes.ResponsibilitiesDesign Development: Create and develop textile designs using CAD software (e.g.,Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop). • Colour Matching: Select appropriate colour palettes and create accurate colour concepts for prints, embroideries and jacquards. • Fabric Selection: Work with different types of fabrics and materials, understandingtheir properties and suitability for various designs. • Pattern Creation: Develop patterns and prints for textiles, considering the end-useand customer preferences. • Sample Development: Collaborate with production teams to create samples of textile designs. • Sales Tools Development: Plan catalogues, hangers and other sales tools for the marketing and sales teams. • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of designs, revisions, and production processesQualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design or a related field. • Experience: 0-2 years of experience in textile design or a related field. Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are encouraged to apply. • Skills: o Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop). o Strong artistic and creative skills with an eye for detail. o Good understanding of colour theory and fabric properties. o Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. o Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. o Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with textile production processes and techniques. • Familiarity with weaving, printing, and dyeing processes. • Bachelor of Design from renowned design institutes such as NID or NIFT.
