NBS (Nature-Based Solutions) Consultant Mumbai, India, or Remote Full TimeJob ResponsibilitiesLead GHG accounting for nature-based solutions projects, focusing on blue carbon, soil organic carbon, enhanced weathering and biochar applications to enhance ecosystem services and climate resilience. Assist the strategy team in modelling GHG sequestered for different intervention types. Utilize advanced GHG accounting methodologies to quantify carbon sequestration and emission reduction benefits of NBS projects. Conduct technical feasibility studies to identify and prioritize opportunities for nature-based interventions. Prepare detailed project proposals, reports, and presentations for clients, stakeholders, and investors/funding agencies. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented NBS projects, using metrics and indicators to assess environmental and socio-economic impacts. Stay current with emerging trends, policies, and technologies related to nature-based solutions, carbon management, and environmental sustainability.Must HaveBachelor’s or master’s in environmental science, Ecology, Climate Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in GHG accounting, carbon methodologies, and implementing nature-based solutions or related environmental projects. Experience in developing projects using the Verra methodologies VM044, VM042, VM021, VM033 Track record of registration and issuances (optional) using the above methodologies Strong understanding of blue carbon, soil organic carbon, biochar, and other carbon sequestration techniques. Proficiency in GHG accounting standards and tools such as IPCC guidelines, Verra, Gold Standard, or other relevant frameworks.
