Cloud Database Consultant – MS SQL & Oracle

Job Description: Database Consultant (MS SQL & Oracle on Cloud) Overview: As a Database Consultant, you will develop MS SQL & Oracle solutions on Cloud, lead delivery teams during customer workshops, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders across client hierarchies. You will engage with clients to define, design, and implement database architecture and solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.This role requires expertise in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, etc.) and strong hands-on experience in MS SQL and Oracle environments,including migrations, upgrades, disaster recovery, and performance tuning. You will work closely with client stakeholders such as DBAs, developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver consulting services through workshops, solutioning, architecture, migrations, optimization, and administration. Key Responsibilities: Lead client workshops to gather requirements, design solutions, and define database architecture for Oracle and MS SQL on Cloud. Plan, design, implement, and maintain database environments on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, etc.). Hands-on expertise in Installation & Configuration, Schema handling, User and Security Management, Backup & Restore, and Database Administration for MS SQL & Oracle. Architect-level knowledge of Server Security, DR Replication monitoring/configuration, High Availability (HA), Failover, and Replication. Develop and optimize database structures to ensure data integrity, performance, and security. Implement MS SQL & Oracle-related tools; write scripts for automation; perform advanced database performance tuning. Strong knowledge in setting up MS SQL & Oracle in HA architecture. Plan and implement backup strategies (including scripting) following best practices. Provide integration support with third-party monitoring systems. Administer Linux and Windows environments for database deployments (preferred). Familiarity with Virtual Machines (AWS EC2) and container technologies (Docker, etc.) is a plus. Experience with JDBC connection pools and database integration preferred. Use consultative techniques to engage with clients and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Lead solutioning for 3-tier architectures and ensure compliance with contractual SLAs. Additional Must-Haves: Strong knowledge of AWS – RDS and DB migration experience. Hands-on experience migrating database workloads (across engines such as Oracle, MS SQL, etc.) onto RDS or native EC2. Good understanding of HA and replication mechanisms for databases. Practical experience in 3-tier solutioning. Qualifications & Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Database Developer/Consultant. Expert in performance analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution. Excellent consulting, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to excel in a cohesive team environment. Certifications (Preferred): AWS : Solution Architect Associate or Professional Oracle : Database Administration Certified Professional, SQL Certified Associate, OCP, OCP Database Security Expert Microsoft : Certified Azure Database Administrator AssociateCandidate willing to relocate to Malaysia are encouraged to apply.
