Experience Designer Intern

Wystan Health is building screen-free learning systems to support early cognitive development in children.Full-time | On-site (Kolkata) | ₹10,000 - ₹15,000/month | 4–6 monthsWe’re an early-stage startup working at the intersection of child development, healthcare, education, and inclusive design. Our product is a screen-free, interactive learning device for children aged 3–7, designed to foster language development, reasoning, curiosity, and aptitude — without relying on screens or rote learning.The hardware has already been prototyped and tested. We’re now looking for two Experience Designer interns to help define what this product teaches, how it teaches, and how children grow with it over time.This role is ideal for final-year students looking to pursue this as a graduation/capstone project.What you’ll work on- Defining the learning philosophy of the product- Mapping cognitive and developmental focus areas (language, reasoning, memory, etc.)- Structuring content architecture and progression over time- Breaking down abstract goals into individual activities, games, and modules- Designing child-facing interactions and corresponding parent-facing understanding- Helping define how a child’s progress is interpreted and communicatedYou’ll constantly ask:“What is the child actually developing through this interaction?”Who we’re looking for- Backgrounds in interaction design, industrial design, education + design, psychology (with making skills)- Strong critical thinking and systems thinking- Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage problem definition- Ability to both think deeply and build concretelyWhat you’ll get- Full-time, on-site work from our Kolkata studio- High ownership and real decision-shaping influence- Work that can be used as a capstone / graduation project- Portfolio usage permitted (with coordination)- Possibility of full-time role post internshipHow to applyPlease share:Portfolio (mandatory)CVShort responses (5–7 lines each):- What do you think children aged 3–7 should be developing that most screen-based products don’t support well?- Describe a learning experience from your childhood that stayed with you.
