Position Name:Engineering Program Manager – Surface Mount Technology Experience:15+ years Educational Qualification B.Tech / B.E Graduate degree in ME, EE, ECE, E&I MBA/PMP/Six Sigma PreferredTechnical Skills The candidate must have strong expertise in SMT assembly and PCB manufacturing, including screen printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, and AOI Hands-on NPI experience and the ability to establish production lines are required. Knowledge of DFX principles for manufacturability and testability is essential Familiarity with lean methods like 5S and Six Sigma Understanding of supply chain management and component procurement, are also expectedTool Skills Proficiency in project management and productivity tools Excel/Google Sheets for budgeting and data analytics (ability to create KPI dashboards) High proficiency in standard MS Office software for reportingSpecial Requirements Domain expertise in EMS or high-volume electronics production. Willingness to travel for customer meetings or supplier visits as needed. High adaptability, a proactive approach, and the capacity to work under tight deadlinesJob Description Set up new SMT production lines for Business Development projects, translating customer requirements into effective manufacturing solutions From initial proposals to installation and qualification, ensure each line is configured for quality, output, cost, and timely launch Handle equipment selection, layout, process tuning, documentation, and production support, collaborating with internal teams and customerResponsibilities Work with BD & PM to define project needs and design SMT line setups Specify equipment, throughput, manpower, and layouts; provide data for quotes Select and purchase equipment, prepare CapEx justifications, and manage installation Establish process flow, set parameters, program machines, and arrange custom tooling Validate processes with pilot builds, monitor output, resolve issues, and get customer approval Coordinate across departments, align supply chain and quality plans, train staff, and support NPI Oversee ramp-up, optimize performance, resolve issues, and support early mass production
