Job Description:
Are you an experienced Google Cloud Platform (GCP) specialist? Ready to join our team at WNPL on a casual contract basis? Possiblity to work with existing job. You’ll lead the evaluation and transformation of existing enterprise cloud setup of our clients, driving improvements in availability, scalability, security, and infrastructure automation. Experience: 4 - 15 Years Salary: High hourly rates Must have excellent oral English communication skills to interact with international clients Immediate joining available. Work with Big Data, AI/ML project teams About the role You’ll work independently to assess client GCP environments, recommend improvements, and implement changes safely. Doing so via Infrastructure as Code where possible would be ideal . You’ll also advise on infra impacts for new software systems WNPL is developing. What you’ll do Use your exceptional GCP skills to assess current-state GCP setups (networking, security, reliability, cost) and deliver clear improvement plans. Optional: Implement and maintain IaC (Terraform, etc.) across projects; establish reusable modules and guardrails. Design/modify architectures using GCP services (e.g., VPC, subnets, Cloud NAT, Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, IAM, Service Accounts, Secrets Manager). Build and run workloads on GKE and/or Compute Engine ; containerise where sensible; tune autoscaling. Configure Cloud SQL / Spanner / Memorystore / BigQuery as relevant; backup/restore, HA/DR patterns. Set up CI/CD (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or similar) with policy checks and environment promotion. Implement monitoring/alerting with Cloud Monitoring & Logging ; SLOs/error budgets where appropriate. Harden security (SCC, IAM least-privilege, org policies, VPC-SC, private access) and advise on compliance. Optimise costs (rightsizing, committed use/Autopilot, storage lifecycle, data egress patterns). Write concise runbooks, diagrams, and change notes clients can trust. What you’ll bring (must-haves) 4 + years in cloud infrastructure with 3+ on GCP. Optional: Strong IaC (modules, workspaces, state management, pipelines); comfortable with Git workflows. Deep knowledge of: VPC design, routing/NAT, load balancing, IAM, GKE/containers, Linux fundamentals. Experience introducing controls: org policies, folder/project structure, billing budgets/alerts, SCC. Proven ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and deliver safely in regulated/enterprise contexts. Excellent English oral communication skills. Nice to have AWS familiarity and migration/portability experience. Windows Server + IIS basics (for hybrid client estates), and/or database administration exposure. SRE practices (SLOs, incident response, post-incident review). Certs (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect/DevOps Engineer) are welcome but not required.
