Position - General Manager – Procurement | Location - Kashipur (Uttarakhand)Naini Papers Limited is seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager – Procurement to lead and transform its end-to-end procurement function. This role is critical in ensuring the strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and uninterrupted availability of raw materials, chemicals, engineering spares, CAPEX items, and services required for seamless plant operations.The incumbent will be responsible for driving procurement excellence, supplier partnerships, risk mitigation, and digital transformation, while aligning procurement strategies with the organization’s sustainability and growth objectives.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Procurement & Supply AssuranceDevelop and execute long-term procurement strategies aligned with business goals and production plansEnsure uninterrupted availability of fibrous raw materials, wastepaper, chemicals, fuels, and consumablesDrive demand planning, inventory optimization, and supply continuity to support operational efficiency2. CAPEX & Engineering ProcurementLead procurement for CAPEX projects, including vendor identification, techno-commercial evaluation, and contract finalizationEnsure timely sourcing of engineering spares, critical equipment, and Maintenance, Repair, Operations items (MRO) to minimize plant downtime3. Vendor Development & Contract ManagementEstablish and strengthen a robust vendor ecosystemDevelop Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs), long-term agreements (LTAs), and strategic alliancesDrive supplier performance management, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives4. Cost Optimization & Value CreationIdentify and implement cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, alternate materials, and negotiation excellenceMonitor market trends, commodity price fluctuations, and logistics costs to optimize procurement spendEnsure effective scrap monetization and by-product value realization5. Digitization & Process ExcellenceLeverage SAP (MM module) and digital procurement tools for process automation, analytics, and decision-makingImplement best-in-class procurement practices, including e-sourcing, e-auctions, and data-driven insights6. Risk Management & ComplianceDevelop robust supply chain risk mitigation strategies to address disruptions, price volatility, and supply constraintsEnsure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental norms, and sustainability standards (FSC etc.)Uphold ethical sourcing practices, and corporate governance7. Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement teamFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learningDrive performance management, capability building, and succession planningQualificationsPostgraduate/MBA in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related disciplineExperience20+ years of progressive experience in procurement.Proven leadership experience in end-to-end procurement managementStrong preference for candidates from the Pulp & Paper, Packaging / Process Manufacturing IndustryCompensationCompetitive and aligned with industry standards, commensurate with experience and expertise.
