Physical Design Engineer

Hiring for USA based big MNC, pls apply if following Job Description suits your aspirations.We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Physical Design Engineer to contribute to the development of high-performance digital integrated circuits (ICs). In this role, you will be responsible for the physical implementation of digital logic, from RTL to GDSII, using industry-standard EDA tools and methodologies.You will work closely with logic design, verification, DFT, and packaging teams to ensure designs meet timing, area, power, and manufacturability constraints. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in physical design flows, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with advanced technology nodes.Perform full physical implementation of digital blocks, including floorplanning, power planning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, and sign-off.Perform static timing analysis (STA), identify timing violations, and implement fixes to meet timing and performance goals.Analyze and optimize power (dynamic and leakage), including clock gating and multi-voltage domains (UPF/CPF).Execute sign-off checks such as DRC, LVS, ERC, and antenna rule checking using tools like Calibre or Pegasus.Ensure layout adheres to foundry design rules and is manufacturable at advanced nodes (e.g., 5nm, 7nm, 16nm).Utilize industry-standard tools from Synopsys, Cadence, or Mentor (e.g., Innovus, ICC2, PrimeTime, Voltus, Tempus).Work with RTL designers, DFT, packaging, and verification teams to drive quality and deliver tape-out-ready designs.Develop or modify scripts (Tcl, Perl, Python, Shell) to automate design tasks and improve productivity.
