This role will serve as the technical authority for instrumentation and control systems, ensuring reliable performance, operational safety, and regulatory compliance of all control and automation systems across the asset lifecycle. The role will work closely with offshore E&I teams, operations personnel, and technical specialists to maintain the reliability and integrity of control systems, instrumentation networks, and safety systems.What You Will Do In this role, you will: Act as theTechnical Advisor for Instrumentation & Control systemssupporting day-to-day Ruby FPSO operations. Provide input to theOperational Performance Standard (OPS)and maintenance management systems. Continuously monitor FPSO performance and ensure instrumentation and control systems operate within required standards. Ensure efficient maintenance, inspection, and repair ofinstrumentation and control systemsthroughout the asset lifecycle. ImplementReliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) , lifecycle asset management, and risk management strategies includingcriticality assessment, bad actor identification, and single point failure analysis . Serve as thefocal point for digitalization initiativesrelated to the Ruby FPSO and associated facilities. Participate inrisk assessment studies such as SIL assessments and Safety Critical Element (SCE) reviews . Ensure compliance withclass, flag state, and regulatory requirements . Prepare and reviewoperational and maintenance proceduresfor instrumentation and control systems. CoordinateIT-related matters between offshore teams and external service providers . Lead or contribute toincident investigations and root cause analysisusing tools such as5 Why Analysis and Taproot . Review and developManagement of Change (MoC)documentation including risk assessments and as-built documentation. Conduct periodiccompetency assessments of offshore E&I Lead, Instrument Technicians, and DCS Specialists . Maintain and update theLessons Learned Registerbased on shutdown reports, audits, investigations, and MoC reviews. Participate in inspections ofEx-rated electrical and instrumentation equipmentin coordination with the Electrical Engineer. Review and resolvetechnical queries raised by offshore teams and clients . Coordinate withvendors and external consultantsfor technical troubleshooting and field support.What We Are Looking For Qualifications Bachelor’s degree inInstrumentation Engineering, Control Engineering, or Electronics Engineering . Functional Safety certificationis desirable.Experience 15 years of experiencein Instrumentation and Control engineering. Minimum7 years in Upstream Oil & Gas operations . Experience inoffshore operations and maintenance (FPSO preferred) . Strong experience withDCS / ICSS systems(Honeywell experience is an advantage). Experience working withengineering databases and maintenance management systems . Exposure tooffshore commissioning and multidisciplinary operational environments .Technical Knowledge Strong expertise inICSS / DCS systems (preferably Honeywell) . Knowledge ofmetering systems, field instrumentation, telecom systems, and communication networks . Familiarity withhazardous area equipment standards such as IEC 60079 and ATEX . CompEx certification forHazardous Area Installation and Inspectionis advantageous. Strong understanding ofFPSO marine and process systems . Experience inRoot Cause Analysis using tools such as 5 Why and Taproot . Good knowledge ofComputerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP or equivalent) . Expertise inPLC / DCS control system troubleshooting .Interpersonal Skills Strong leadership and teamwork abilities. Structured and analytical with strong attention to detail. Ability to work effectively under pressure while delivering high-quality results. Comfortable working inmultidisciplinary and multinational teams . Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstratesflexibility, reliability, and a delivery-focused mindset . Fluent inEnglish (spoken and written) .Work Environment This role requires strong familiarity with instrumentation and control systems onboard FPSOs.
