We believe that talent and skills come in various forms, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and categories as long as they possess the passion and dedication required for the position.What You’ll Do Build and iterate on learner and teacher dashboards in Next.js (TypeScript, Node.js, App Router, React Server Components). Design secure Supabase edge functions, Auth flows, and storage with Row-Level Security. Model and optimize content, progress, and analytics data in MongoDB (indexes, aggregation pipelines). Integrate real-time captioning and sign-language video assets. Create data pipelines for AI models. Write unit/integration tests (Vitest/Jest, Playwright) and perform peer code reviews. Profile performance, shrink bundle sizes, and ensure cross-browser compatibility. Collaborate with Operations to roll out releases to partner Deaf schools, gather feedback, and squash production bugs quickly.Technical Must-Haves Pursuing/completed a CS-related degree or equivalent self-taught experience (we give more importance to practical experience). 6+ months hands-on with React/Next.js, TypeScript and Node.js. Working knowledge of Supabase (Auth, Postgres, Storage) or strong SQL fundamentals. Basic proficiency in MongoDB CRUD, schema design, and aggregation. Familiarity with Git/GitHub flow and modern JS tooling (pnpm or yarn, eslint, prettier).Soft-Skill Superpowers Empathetic communication — explain complex ideas to both engineers and non-technical educators. Active listening — seek to understand classroom pain points before coding a solution. Problem-solving mindset — treat bugs as puzzles; propose multiple options before choosing the best fix. Adaptability — embrace shifting requirements that arise from live classroom feedback. Work ethic & grit — roll up your sleeves when timelines tighten, maintaining quality while driving features over the finish line. Self-awareness & humility — ask questions early, accept constructive critique, and iterate quickly. Collaboration — work asynchronously across product, design, and operations using Slack, Notion, and GitHub PRs. Emotional intelligence — maintain composure during high-pressure releases and foster a supportive team culture.Nice-to-Have Extras Live projects (share links!)
